Totally agree with this theory Bluelyme - I do think that it can cause extreme die off symptoms of Lyme, Enterococcus & Ureaplasma bacterias as well as others. From personal experience it does seem that the Enterococus is linked to the peripheral neuropathy symptoms as well. My stool test shows I have over 100x normal amounts of Enterococcus in the colon and I had a terrible reaction to moxifloxacin after only 1 or 2 doses, but I have also had a bad reaction to amoxicillin in the past. I also have a Ureaplasma which is resistant to Azithromycin and am awaiting results of my Lyme test. I am going to try and start out slowly this time in attempting treatment and build up to the full dose to see if that helps rather than getting the extreme die off symptoms all at once as Moxifloxacin is a strong drug.

I had a bad experience on bactrim...maybe allergic but my theory is it killed so many bugs so quik that nerve damage and vasculitis followed ..
i sting myself with bees on a regular basis and i am scared of the flouroquinalones ....here is a link to the fda warning.they can shorten telomeres and cause aortic ruptures etc etc

Hi lorazapora - welcome!
i've read that supplementing with magnesium is important when taking the fluoroquinolones.
But, not sure if that is just for the risk of tendon rupture, or if the mag also helps for the Peripheral neuropathy and CNS damage that this class of meds can cause.
