Some more questions I guess just for morale:
-have you spoken with people who have made a full recovery from bart/lyme?
-Is it reasonable for me to assume I would be able to return to work around this fall (sept or oct) bar no setbacks?
-is it helpful to exercise if you can?
My case is interesting as I feel like I haven't been sick as long as most people here (almost 7 months now) and I was extremely healthy and fit/athletic otherwise before as well as I am on the younger side (28)... with all those going for me I'm hoping to make a fast recovery...
Yes, besides the people on this forum who have gotten well, I know some personally in my
location. One lady in particular treated for 2 1/2 years (If i'm remembering correctly) for lyme/bart and has been in remission for 2-3 years now. No issues...no relapses.
I can't say how you will be in Sept or October. it all depends on your symptoms and how long it takes for them to resolve.
I have had many symptoms go with lyme/bart treatment, but I still have a few that are bad enough to keep me from working, and resuming a 'normal' life.
Yes, exercise is good - in moderation. Dr. Burrascano (in his guidelines) says no aerobic exercise...but I think once you start to feel better you may be able to. You can try - see how it feels. If it makes you feel worse...and recovery is slow...then it's too soon.
I exercise regularly. I do lots of theraband strengthening, some light weights, use an Eliptical machine.
I also go for fairly long walks (an hour long)
Being sick for just 7 months may help you - when I look back to how I was at 7 months in...I wasn't as sick as I was at 16 months when I finally started treatment.
I was also in really good shape - although not young like you...but I had serious muscle atrophy and weight loss in the first 6 weeks of the infection.
I wouldn't put pressure on yourself about
wanting to get back to work in a couple months...that could set you up for disappointment.
I kept doing that - over and over again...but it added to my stress.
Maybe make the goal a bit further out at least...and if you get better sooner...then great!
