Really bad muscle pain/aches...herx?

Hey everyone,

So I am on week 3 of bart treatment and this particular week I am having very bad episodes of body/muscle aches which are debilitating at times... particularly in my arms, legs (calves), and back. I'm suspecting that it may be the result of herxing...

does anyone have any advice on what you do when you have sore muscles/achy muscles?

Are you taking Epsom salt baths or foot baths for detoxing, that should help a bit.

I would check out using binders to help take up the toxins from the herx also.

Japanese knotweed for inflammation


Kudzu for pain


Check for side effects and contradictions and do your own research on herbals as I am not an medical expert.

I am just finishing month 4 of lyme/bartonella treatment. i haven't had bad episodes of muscle aches like that. however, recently i have had feelings of shakiness, weakness. it has been in the last week or so, which is odd given i have been on this for many weeks. so, i am increasing detoxing, lots of water, alkaselter gold, maybe some epsom salts to see if that helps. maybe also try stretching your muscles. i like to stretch sometimes in a hot shower.

For herxing, I have used any and all of these: Epsom foot soaks, Activated charcoal caps, vitamin C, drink adequate amounts of water, walking, bouncing on rebounder (mini-trampoline) 2 mintues twice daily for lymph drainage.

Get to an infrared suana. It did wonders for me so i bought one for my home. Good thing i did because now I'm using it to detox mycotoxins !

I would be happy to. After reseaching I found Vital Saunas had what I was looki ng for. When I was working I bought the 4 person corner made of hemlock. But there are some nice 1 or 2 person units for much less money!

I have not tried IV magnesium, i suspect it may help. But Magnesium makes a lot of antibiotics less effective. so, personally i have stayed away from magnesium while taking antibiotics, some people space it away from antibiotics.

I did try magnesium glycinate briefly and it seemed to help a bit, and plan to resume after antibiotics.

My mom and I are house hunting. Trying to find a non moldy house. Looked at 20-30 houses and haven't found one yet in our price range that wasn't either moldy or toxic from new caroet, floors, and paint. I couldn't even go inside about a third of them.

When we find a house, I need to get a sauna. I've never even used one. Does the sauna you bought have any smell? It's just electric, no water in it, right?

Just curious, it looks like muscle soreness could be attributed to herx.. what are some of the other symptoms that could be linked to this? Just curious.

The herx is a ramping up of current symptoms and/or the start of new symptoms.

Oh yeah, have absolutely gotten herxes like that. I think things like epsom salt baths and infrared sauna can help. And trying out a range of other detox methods and seeing what works for you. Burbur drops, pinella, activated charcoal, alka seltzer gold plus lemon water, etc, etc.

Never tried magnesium infusions. SierraDon is right though that it can make certain antibiotics less effective. I think I've read that spacing out the magnesium from when you dose the antibiotics helps avoid that issue, but I'm not 100%.
