Looking for LLMD in or near San Jose CA

I grew up in Massachusetts and fortunately never contracted Lyme disease.

When visiting Massachusetts with my 6 year old son about 8 years ago. He picked up a small tick. I did not see it for about a day. At that point we had returned to California San Jose area where we live. He did develop a fever and we took him to the doctor but we still did not associate this with a tick bite.


Over the last 5 years or so as I have learned more about Lyme disease I have become worried that he might have contracted it and we have not realized it.


He does not have any real obvious symptoms but he does not have very good memory of events that are greater than a few years old. He has had concentration problems since shortly after the tick bite.

What is the best thing for me to do at this point? Is there a test that could determine if he did actually contract Lyme disease 8 years ago?

I guess I am looking for a LLMD in the San Jose, CA area. The thought that I could have let this happen to him years ago and it is going undetected and slowly destroying his life haunts me daily.


It would be an incredible relief to determine one way or another if he has contracted Lyme.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Bay Area has become one of the big hot zones for Lyme in the country so it's possible that he got bit here. Most ticks here are nymph ticks so it's unlikely that you would have seen it.

Unfortunately there are no LLMD/ND's in the South Bay (I'm in Almaden Valley). I've put together a list of the reputable Dr's over the years. If you email me I'll more than happy to email it to you. Click on my user name and my email address will be visible.

My doc is in Foster City, like 20-30 minutes north of San Jose. Pacific Frontier Medical is the clinic. I see Y. S. and love her. I will be seeing Dr. H in October.

I want to thank everyone who posted in response to my questions. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to reply. I have ordered the test kit from Ingenx. We will see where things go from here.
