Awful experience with my doctor today!

I regrouped with my family doctor today as the internal medicine doctors aren't helping and I'm stuck in a rut. I came armed with more information and tests I wanted to ask about after reading Dr. Horowitz's books and reading your suggestions.

She proceeded to tell me everything is in my head and my anxiety is what's causing my symptoms. I told her I had to respectfully disagree and then in tears with my Igenex results in hand reminded her that I do have positive lyme blood work and no one is taking me seriously.

She said she's already done several tests for me and undeniably some abnormality will come up the more we dig that will only heighten my anxiety. I walked out and sobbed to my mother.

I'm sad for our medical system and how many suffering individuals it lets down.

I'm sorry ExhaustedGirl for what you went through.

I can understand when a Dr. doesn't know what is wrong with their patient and is honestly trying to find out.....but to say that it's in your head and anxiety...that is just WRONG.

She's an idiot...don't you give her another thought..okay?


When do you think you'll be seeing a LLMD?


There's really no good reason for a Dr. to behave that way. My Doc didn't know what was wrong with me either...but she wasn't afraid to admit that...and continue to search...and she also accepted my positive Lyme WB from Igenex.

She is honestly a disgrace for a doctor... so irresponsible, heartless, and greedy. Unfortunately we have a shortage of doctors in my area so it's been a challenge trying to find someone new. I don't understand why she can't just give me a requisition for some tests to help me investigate lyme further-- I'm the one that did all the research anyway.

Unfortunately won't be able to make an appointment with a LLMD in the US until I figure out what's happening with my visa (still waiting on that... really thought it would be decided by now).

I'm on day 3 of a very strict cleanse and supplements from a naturopath I saw on Tuesday. She was a little sketchy and her protocol was not exactly lyme-focused (although she does think I have lyme) but more to build up my immune system. I'm cutting out all sugar including most fruit sugars, red meat, gluten, grains other than brown rice and quinoa, and dairy other than plain yogurt, and mostly eating organic. We'll see how this goes... I did basically the same diet for 2 weeks months ago with no change at all but i guess 2 weeks was a pretty short amount of time.

File a complaint with the ama and anyone and everything that licenses dr and stuff we got to start this so they will change the way they treat us and they will start looking for solutions

I disagree. This will only cause issues for Igenex. It's best to move forward and stay positive. That will help you with your healing.
