Question about possible Bart rash on son

Are the stretch marks white or red? I’m not sure about the other symptoms, but I think the marks are a symptoms in itself....hopefully someone with more experience responds for u

Marks are like a purple. And they look deep like. Really do look like stretch marks. almost look like scars. But he has had no injury that would cause anything like that.

I'm not that knowledgeable about bart marks...but it does look like it could be from Bartonella.


Hard sometimes to distinguish them from stretch marks from a fast growth spurt...

Tall guy checking in, I have almost identical stretch marks on my back from growing fast when I was his age. He is almost certainly in the clear, especially if he's not showing bart symptoms. They'll fade with time, although you can still see mine a little bit and I'm in my mid twenties now. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you. I hope this is it. If I didn't have a daughter with Bartonella and lyme I would have never even considered Bartonella.

I am going to check in with the doctor anyway. Just to be sure but I do appreciate any and all responses.

I just checked him again and it looks the same. Its also flat. Does not feel rough or anything. Not sure if the Bart rash is supposed to feel like anything.

Its the holiday so course doctor's is closed. I am going to try his pediatrician first. She is studying to be a lyme literate doctor and she and her daughter both had Lyme that she cured with her own treatments. She was the one doctor who didn't dismiss my daughter's positive band 39 on her Western Blot.

Has your son been tested for lyme? If not, maybe you should have him do an Igenex WB test.

Never tested for Lyme. I never had any reason to suspect anything. His younger sister is the one that had all the background of being sick and never knowing what she had.

He has always been very healthy. Just regular childhood illnesses.

I will ask the doctor about a Lyme test too.

I had bart marks and stretch marks since around age 10 or 11. Not from weight gain, etc. I believe I was born with the infections. No one suspected bart or Lyme or anything. I didn't get sick enough to know something was terribly wrong until age 39.

Here are some things I had lifelong that should have been clues. Does he have any of these? (You may have to ask him. I don't know too many adolescent boys who just sit around thinking and talking about "symptoms," LOL!!!)

- trouble falling asleep and staying asleep
- tendency toward constipation
- headaches
- feeling tired, headachy, groggy - which I described as "not feeling good"
- hearing loss
- fluid in ears and tubes in ears
- sensitive ears (loud sounds hurt my ears)
- light sensitivity - squinted outdoors and shielded my eyes from the sun with my hand)
- could smell things other people couldn't smell
- cracked my knuckles and eventually other joints
- had trouble finding shoes that didn't hurt my feet
- didn't like to walk barefoot
- nighttime pains in my legs - aching pain in the legs not muscle cramps
- couldn't run or play really hard or walk a lot of stairs without leg muscles giving out, getting very out of breath, and heart pounding
- high heartrate at rest (80's -100)
- periods of feeling irritable, depressed, or antisocial

I'm sure there were more that I can't think of right now, and I do have Lyme and ehrlichia and probably babesia, too, so that's not all from bartonella.
