Hello all,

22 year old male here. So after making some initial posts, I took the advice from Girlie and some others consisting of seeing an LLMD and starting with WB IgG and IgM. My LLMD had me do DNAconnexions where I tested negative (haven't followed up with LLMD yet, saw them online). I did Igenex IgG & IgM on my own and just got results that also came back negative. WB IgM has all bands negative aside from 41 which is indeterminate. WB IgG came back with 39 indeterminate, 41 ++, 66 +. I don't know what to make of this but one thing to note is if I do have Lyme, I would've contracted it 10-11 years ago.

I have that follow up with my LLMD monday, just wanted my Igenex results first. Only other thing I've done lyme related is keto. Today is day 19 on it and so far I've seen my facial muscle twitching decrease a lot. I've been able to give full smiles again without feeling my cheek muscles get tiny spasms and start shaking (started 1 year 4 months ago). I can scrunch my nose now without my nose and cheeks twitching vigorously like they used to instantly (started 2.5-3 years ago). I can close my eyes at night without my eyelids twitching uncontrollably (2.5-3 years ago).

I haven't had tinnitus in weeks but that was occasional anyways so it doesn't tell me much (started within the last 2 years). Cognitive decline 5 years ago hasn't shown any improvement on diet. I've been much more focused and productive since maybe a week ago. I developed some serious procrastination around 13 years old but I doubt it has any relation to potential infection.

I got a good bioavailable form of magnesium about 5 days into the diet and suddenly started sleeping AMAZINGLY, best sleep I've gotten in at least 7-8 years.

Anyways, if it were one of you, what would be your next step? What would be the easiest way to tell if I have Lyme or some sort of infection at this point? I have cat's claw, should I buy serrapeptase and see if I herx? Or would it be better to get an abx and see if I herx? Should I get tested again? Of course, I will ask my LLMD all these questions but I'd like to get a 2nd opinion before going in there.

Sorry you are dealing with mystery health issues.

You will get several differing opinions on best next steps. People that healed with abx(antibiotics) will probably recommend abx. People that got worse with abx and healed with other modalities will usually recommend other modalities.

I did pretty well with abx. Some have more severe or higher chances of side effects than others.

I think you would be wise to consult with your LLMD and follow their advice. If you are super sensitive to abx or other medications, food, chemicals, etc... you might avoid antibiotic treatment and look for a LLND and do herbal treatment.

We also have some members here who have healed with apitherapy (bee venom therapy). Super interesting if you are brave enough to be repeatedly stung several times a week.

I think overall, it is wise to start with an LLMD and try a course of abx and see how you respond and go from there.

FWIW I had a somewhat similar result on my Western blot and had several of the same symptoms. Believe me, I know how irritating constant twitching everyday for years can be.

The diet you are on is a good idea! Keep it up.

What is the magnesium you are using? I would be interested.

sound like ur immune sx is suppressed....ind is a weak positive ...and band 41 means flagella detected !!!...i confirmed borrelia with simple microscope after 33 doctors left me to die ...welcome to the forum; ur on the right track

btw serrapeptase is a enzyme and biofilm buster may just increase symptoms ...if you want a really herx test try andrographis or oil of oregano or bvt

Missouri's suggestion of trying out an abx protocol and gauging response seems like a good idea. Could also try some antimicrobial herbs and gauge response, but pursuing the abx protocol at least you'd have a doctor's oversight. And sometimes people are more sensitive to abx and they can be stronger, so if you are going to herx it will be more clear with that modality (merely my opinion, of course there are some strong herbal antimicrobials out there and they can cause strong herxes in some patients).

If you herx, that will be a sign that underlying infections are likely driving some of your health issues. Either way, that trial would hopefully provide a bit more clarity, and then you can assess your options for treatment and decide if you want to pursue abx or other modalities (if infections are further confirmeD). Abx have helped me the most, but I've found herbals and a couple other modalities to be helpful. It comes down to researching your options, seeing what works for you and also what you are comfortable with. This stuff can involve a lot of trial and error.

Thanks for the input! My LLMD made it clear when I first saw him that he prefers avoiding abx which is part of the reason I wanted to see what you guys thought first. If I know I want to try abx just to have my best chance at a herx, I'd push him to get me prescription. I'm sure he'll have an idea though so I'll let him do his thing.

Gonna do some research on the bee venom thing, sounds sick lol! Dang, sorry to hear. It does indeed suck... Socially more than anything. I still have it but much less than it was before getting on keto.

You can find the magnesium on amazon. It's called "Triple Calm Magnesium - 150mg of magnesium Taurate, Glycinate, and Malate" - sold by natural rhythm. I'd link you to it but the pc is locking me out of my amazon. With this stuff you have the ability to spread it out through the day if you want too bc of smaller dosage.

That is insane. 33 darn doctors. Sad that these guys barely even consider lyme as common as it is. I even stayed at Mayo for a couple days some years back where they tested me for everything in the alphabet... Besides Lyme lol.

Good to know, those are probably cheaper than serrapeptase too smile. Did you put it under the microscope yourself or send blood somewhere?

Thanks Sebreg. I've noticed it takes a ton of trial and error just trying to dx lol. I can't imagine treatment. I will mention it to my LLMD and get his thoughts!

Sorry to hear this--but it sounds like you are on the right track and in my opinion you should definitely check in or even get an extra phone consult with you LLMD. Also wanted to say I can relate to the facial spasms--lately believe it or not I have had a feeling like the muscles above and on the sides of my nose are tugging and pulling, along with cheek muscles, eyes, etc. And after six years I have developed a tremor that happens DURING SLEEP or at sleep onset, which keeps me miserably awake. Some call it internal shaking or brain shake. No neuro I saw has ever heard of it. By the way: Bartonella? I started 500 Azith and 600 Rifampin per day, and one week after starting, I developed bright red straight-line striae scratch-like marks across my stomach and wrist. And Bart apparently seriously attacks the brain, blood vessels and nerves. I now even have eye floaters and something called osciollpsia--which is that my vision bounces slightly when I jog or walk briskly. Sometimes I feel like giving up...

Just now seeing this Mylyme. Thank you for the kind words and advice. Bart is definitely something I should look deeper into. I get the tugging/twitches in the same area. The tremor sounds horrible. If there is anything I've found to lessen the twitching it's zinc supplements. I take "Advanced Research Zinc Orotate"... Just give it a try yourself to see if it has the same effect. Mine were really bad for awhile and around the same time that I quit drinking, I started taking zinc so I really don't know which gave me some relief but I remember reading some stuff about zinc (and of course magnesium) when I did deep research about facial twitching months ago.

I got swollen lymph nodes 11 years ago that lasted for 2 months which raises my suspicious on Bart (on top of all my other symptoms). I too developed floaters a year ago but blamed it on a prescription med I was on for low testosterone. I found that the meds can in rare cases cause eye issues but my eye doctor said he doesn't see how it's possible. What kind of floaters do you get? Mine are onset by brightness like looking at my computer screen, being outside with sun out, etc. I get a bunch of little black floaters that block little sections of vision. It took awhile but I've gotten quite used to them. I've also started wearing glasses 24/7 lol.

It doesn't sound like Lyme to me but something caused your nutritional deficiencies. I'd do a Doctor's Data Urine Toxic and Essential Elements test along with a Urine Amino Acid test. That would give you where you are currently with many elements and from that, you can tell where you need to go. Magnesium isn't the only thing you are deficient of.

Yes, if the LLMD clinically disgnoses him with Lyme.
