Any thoughts on what the best test for lyme and the main coinfections these days? I have an old igenex test from 2010 but do not understand how to interpret the results. i dont know if there are any better tests these days for late stage chronic lyme. I am 60 now and feel I have had it for most of my life but never received an official diagnosis.

You could post your previous results from 2010 and we can take a look at them.
Just type them out...or load them onto another site: Photobucket or Tinypic.com and then post a link here.


The Igenex WB is still one of the best tests out there. The lymeWB IgM and IgG is $250.

You may not need to retest...if there's information on your previous WB that that indicates lyme.

Are you wanting to find a LLMD? or LLND? We can help you with that.

You might also consider the Igenex Immunoblot test which is fairly new and more comprehensive. It is also a bit more expensive.

Igenex may have a new test coming out soon. It will be the gold standard. It's hush-hush for now until they get it through the FDA.

I dont see a place here where I can upload my old igenex test results from 2010. I have it in pdf format and it is several pages.

You need to do it with another website: TinyPic or Photobucket are two I know of.
You load them on to your account there and then post a link here in the forum.

Maybe just type out the WB bands? The ones that were IND and + (positive)

Girlie, see if this helps. There were other pages regarding other tests, but if you are just looking for the bands stuff this is what I see.

For IGM for IGG

23-25 ++ 18 ++
31 IND 31 IND
41 IND 39 IND
41 ++

I have no idea what the difference between IGM and IGG is

actually that did not come out exactly how I had typed it in. the 41++ should be under the IGG

Youre positive for band 23-25 - that is a lyme specific band - meaning only Lyme causes it to be positive.

A LLMD would use these results to back up a clinical diagnosis of Lyme.

IgM is active infection

IgG is older infection but can be an active infection

so most likely 8 years later since I did no treatment and feel like crap all the time I probably still have it? I guess I will look into getting tested again.

Yes - if you never treated you still have it.

You shouldn’t need to retest -

Yes you had lyme - this test backs up symptoms consistent with Lyme. I’m assuming you had symptoms - prompting you to test

there are no lyme docs in the tucson area where I am so does anyone know of docs that might do phone consulting based on my test results

I know that some do phone consults but they usually require an initial consult in person and then follow up appts can be via phone.

So you’ve already searched for one in the Tucson area and there’s none?

not that I see. the closest is this place in scottsdale called Evita that is a big place from what I hear specializing in lyme but very expensive

I have not. I was not sure what the rules are. I was hoping someone might have already seen this besides you and have some suggestions. if not, I am still working on it on my own
