Yes, I think it might be the shin bone. It's the one in the very front part of the leg that kind of sticks out. You can feel it with your fingers sticking out all the way down your leg. This is the lower part of the leg. I think it's referred to as the tibia.
Okay - yes I can feel that one in the centre. The other one on the outer side of the calf is the one I thought you meant.
I’ve lost muscle in that area and the bone does feel kind of “thin” but I’m thinking it’s because the surrounding muscle has atrophied and it just feels thinner.
I actually had quite developed calf muscles prior to lyme.
My husband always commented on them saying he wished he had my calves.
But I had muscle atrophy early on with Lyme and it really shows in that area.
I actually use a measuring tape periodically to check if I’m losing anymore muscle there. So far I haven’t.
