Muscle weakness has been one of the only physical symptoms I've had but it's pretty severe, especially in my quads and abs. Abnormal quad weakness was actually something I had before getting sick and it was always noticable to me.
I know this is a reach but is muscle weakness, particularly in these areas specific to any infection?
Its my guess that probably any of these infections can do this. Many have tendon and joint pain too, and less range of motion from tightness.
There are many ways to address this with physical therapy. Some PTs have you do basic strength training, some do hands on muscle work, some do both (best). One important part many PT programs lack is the use of myofacial release tools like a hard foam roller to use before and after exercise. This gets blood flowing in the muscles distributing oxygen and nutrients allowing quicker recovery times.
You could also start a well rounded exercise program on your own (also with a foam roller (under $50)) if you dont seem to have any lingering injuries. Steps, bicycle, walking, lunges with weighted objects ect.
Its also important to address any muscle knots, if you dont have these, well, thats a blessing on its own.
For abbs, Ive found what works best for me is a abb gym machine- I cant stand flat floor ab crunches. I also release my abb muscles by carefully laying on a soft 4" ball, then Im not sore the day after. I would think this could be found on you-tube.
