Imitrex and Lyme Headaches

Yes. I have occasional migraines and started Imitrex a few years ago. My doc Rx it a few years back after I told him my headaches had changed and no longer responded to my trusted OTC regimen. He suspected they were migraines and told me the Imitrex would only work on migraines and not other types of headaches. They worked for me. Thankfully, mine seem to be triggered mainly by hormone shifts, so I only need the meds 1-4 x a month. You can only take so many in a week or month or you can get caught up in rebound headaches. OTC meds will do the same thing. I didn't know that until I started Imitrex.

I'm 48 and started having headaches at least since the 4th grade. They have been debilitating to varying degrees over my life. I've had bartonella and babesia symptoms since childhood, too. I think my headaches are related to the multiple infections plus hormones. I'm female.

Other things can relieve mine when they are milder. Alka-seltzer Gold, kudzu root, and especially Chinese skullcap seem to relieve various head based symptoms for me to some degree.

So I've been recently getting this debilitating headaches behind my eyes and the back of my neck. My doctor gave me a script of Imitrex, has anyone had any positive results using this or any other suggestions. This is by far one of worst headaches i've ever experienced!

I too get very severe headaches behind the eye. Mostly left side and they sometime migrate down to the base of the skull, neck area. Nothing worked at all to ease the pain. Imitrex pills did not work well for me, but the imitrex injections work very well in my case. My Insurance will only allow 5 per month though.
Very expensive without insurance.

I tested positive for babesia back in May of this year and I feel sure the babs are to blame.

I was miss diagnosed with sinus, cluster and migraine issues for many years.

If the imitrex pills do not work do not be afraid to ask Doc for the imitrex injections Madstop27.

My headaches have mostly gone away since doing parasite cleansing, going gluten/ sugar free, and treating for protozoan infection babesia.

This! Think protozoal infection with that type of headache.
