Japanese knotweed issue...help please

Hey people,
Im a 35 year old male from the netherlands.
about 6 months ago i discovered a very small tick on my upper leg. Tick removed by doc and i received 5 days azitromycin. After 2 days i got extreme diarrhea, within 30 minutes after intake.
I also have crohns disease wich doesnt help much with it.
I then tried doxy, but that resulted in the same problem. (Quit after 2 days).( i also tried with probiotics). I then received (after yelling at my doc because he said lyme was gone even with the diarrhea) intramuscular shots of ceftriaxone for 10 days and after yelling at him again it became 20 days.
At the end of those shots i started developing CNS issues.
To bad no doc or hospital was willing to do iv antibiotics. Its not the diarrhea i care about, but the fact that everytime i get extreme diarrhea after pill intake, the pill wont be absorbed and treatment is ineffective.

Currently, i also have neurological problems like light headiness, dizzy, headaches, nerval pains in arms and legs, pain and pressure behind the eyes.

I searched for a llmd in germany and found one. I asked for iv antibiotics but he only wants to focus on my gut. I did a coinfection test because most problems i have are bartonella related in my opinion. I will receive the outcome this week but im 100% certain i have barts also because of the specific symptoms like pain under my foot, the cns issues starting during ceftriaxone shots wich should mean that it aint from borrelia. Ceftriaxon doest work against coinfections so imo 1+1=2

I bought lots of buhner herbs and im going to try his protocols.
I started with japanese knotweed but i got some bowelissues just after 1 day. Loose stools and smaĺl cramps.
I discovered that this could be because of the emodin, wich is a laxating ingredient.

My question is if the knotweed tinctures have the same problem as have the powders?
I know take the raw powder wich i capsulated myself. Does a tincture of knotweed also contain emodin?

Its very demoting if the first herb i take is giving me problems again with my gut.

I apologise for the long post for just 1 question, but i was thinking it would be appropriate to introduce myself a little bit.

Sorry for your bad experienced so far.
Question: Did you take the abx with food? ie eat some food, take the antibiotics and then eat more food? Sandwiching them like that sometimes helps.

Ceftriaxone does work on Lyme. Not as much on bart. (The Cephalosporins are commonly used to treat lyme)
But, you should be taking at least 2 antibiotics at the same time.

Bartonella abx: Rifampin, Rifabutin. Bactrim is sometimes effective, too. The fluoroquinolones appear to be the most effective BUT, they come with a few Black Box warnings...so many of us won't take that class of abx.

re: JK in tincture form. It might be better on the stomach. You can put the drops in 1/4 cup of water and take it right before you eat your meals. I think the only way to know if it will cause diarrhea is to try it.

I have the same issues with knotweed. Another option is to take grape seed extract (not grapefruit seed). Grapes also have a high amount of resveratrol, that's what i do

Yes i did took the antibiotics with food but the diarrhea was so severe that 30 minutes after intake everything just flushes out. The 3 hours after intake i had to spent 2.5 hours on the toilet devided in 3 or 4 times.
The doctors say antibiotics are a problem for me so they wont give them to me anymore. They tell me to work on my immunesystem, but i already have crohns and some sort of psoriasis. That means even before the lyme, my immunesystem wasnt one of the strongest in the world.

Therefore i researched herbs...

Tnx for the suggestion of the grapeseed. I will look into that!
I will also try the tinctureform just to find out if that makes a difference.

I would look into taking a lot of Fiber. Like pure fiber, you can buy it as Psyllium Husk. I take a tablespoon every few days. You take it with probiotics. Ask your doctor. Sound like your gut doesn't have any fiber for things to settle down in.

The Japanese Knotweed tincture does not contain the laxative that the powder does. The powder should not be taken long term due to issues it can cause with the colon, the tincture doesn't have that problem. That's what I've read, at least.

I found this on the webpage from a botanical seller.

Japanese Knotweed Root may interact with several medications, such as blood thinners and drugs metabolized by the P-450 enzyme system in the liver. Consult your healthcare provider before adding to your regiment of drug treatment.

When taking capsules of dried powder root, the presence of emodin, a purgative, may irritate the intestine and cause rapid bowel movements.

Japanese Knotweed tincture is not suggested for use in pregnant or lactating women, or in people with estrogen-sensitive cancers. Trans resveratrol found in Japanese Knotweed Root is a phytoestrogen having estrogenic properties, which allows them to mildly mimic and sometimes act as antagonists of estrogen. Before supplementing, test for hormone levels by saliva testing which will show results of all bio-available estrogen in the body, not just in the blood.

When i read the text above, i also start to think that the tincture might not have this problem.

about the psylliumhusk...a year ago i got psyllium from the doc...but it gave me more diarrhea. I stopped it and never took it again.
I eat lots of potatoes and vegetables wich also contain lots of fiber. So i hope my fiberintake is sufficient.

Edit: i just ordered dried japanese knotweed root cut and i will make a tincture out of it. Lets see if that works better.

Hey people...i started today with a jap. Knotweed tincture....only 1 way to find out if it causes diarrhea also..

I also found a emodin free bottle on iherb.

Anyone knows if this could be a solution for me?

Buhner recommends jap knotweed but isnt it all about the trans resveratrol?

Your sx sound similar to mine early in my treatment. Try Floristor or a good quality sachromysis boullardii (sp?) to help with the diahhrea.
