What test can show active? She sees Klinghardt so maybe it was muscle testing?

Maybe she had a PCR test done ? or DNA Connexions?

Western Blot won't show if it's active, but if you pull a PCR test positive...then maybe it is. ie they found dna of the bacteria in your blood.

they are an expensive hoax if you ask me. Havent seen one person go into remission with those treatments. She got 2 different ones both very expensive.

I thought we never truly eradicate the bacteria so it could still be present. Betterhealthguy (Scott), who has been in remission for years, did the test awhile back and was still positive for lyme, bart and babs. He has no symptoms. Really makes me question everything!

He posted his results - so either the test is not accurate or we never get rid of any of these infections. What do you think?

He mentions the same happens with chicken pox - we still have it in our blood . I didn't realize that we did still have the dna of the bacteria in our blood.
I thought maybe if we tested via WB - that antibodies may show for awhile after healing and maybe always with the IgG...but not the actual dna of the bacteria.

So, I guess it just comes back to using symptoms or lack of to determine if we have an active disease.
...and that's not always easy to do. You get a sore shoulder...and then your knee hurts...and the mind is going to go to Lyme...right?

But, I guess it's all we got?

I just read her book, it was a familiar story (except for the worldwide treatments)
It really emphasizes the need for the CDC and the medical and insurance powers that be to pull their heads out.
Real research, proper accurate education, testing and treatment needs to be the acceptable practice in our medical pros.

We can’t afford health insurance and treatments but a new clinic opens on every corner in the last several years, they’re obviously making money.

Even if you have loads of money and time it shouldn’t be wasted on unknowns in the Lyme fix search.

And the number of BS “doctors” and their cashing in on the cash only snake oil treatments could be culled out.

I believe We will always have Lyme and Co, we will need to learn to manage flares

The worst of human nature comes out in areas like trying to address a complex, mysterious illness like Lyme Disease. There's a snake oil salesman on every corner selling miracle cures to an already impoverished and suffering population when in reality no one can agree on much of anything regarding this disease.

When at J Clinic in DC recently, we were told the body never completely rids itself of these viruses and infections (mentioned as examples were EBV, HIV, herpes, all tick infections). Their whole premise is to lower the load and get the immune system strong enough to beat back any flare. There are hiccups along the way and as we have all heard, it is much harder for some patients than others to strengthen the immune system.
