I spent last week fighting a virus on top of the usual. Nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, couldn't eat, got worse all week until it broke yesterday thankfully. (Found mouse poop in the silverware drawer and was convinced I was going to die of hantavirus. Kind of funny, kind of not.)
It made me wonder, how effectively can our struggling immune systems handle other punches like that? Does it just tend to take longer? My teens both had mild stomach issues this week but nothing like I did.
Secondly, during the week, my Lyme and babesia symptoms acted up and now I'm having a strong babesia flare or herx -- vibrations, heart weirdness, dizziness, photosensitivity, mental/emotional stuff, sweats, up tonight with night panic like I used to get earlier in babesia treatment. Is all that because my immune system was occupied with something else? Or, I lost five pounds this week because I couldn't eat and I've heard weight loss can release spirochetes etc. -- would that be part of it?
