Girlie, we must have a mutant gene defect to not like coffee.
You ever get grief socially for not drinking or liking coffee? I do sometimes. I really don't care if others drink coffee, but I don't get why it strikes a nerve with some others that I don't drink coffee. Like, why do they care what I drink or don't drink? It's a huge social thing though (at least around here).
LOL - I don't really get hassled...but people are usually surprised. At first they think it's some kind of health 'kick' I'm on...and then I explain I don't like the taste.
They go on to say things like they couldn't function without coffee...and how do I wake up in the morning....etc. etc.
At work, everyone chips in to buy good coffee. And I refuse......that must p-ss them off.
I just remembered my mom (RIP) never liked coffee either. She forced herself to drink it (the neighborhood ladies would get together in the afternoon after the kids went to school).
She said after several weeks...she grew a taste for it.
...and I can say she turned into a coffee 'connoisseur'. Ground her beans every morning...lol. Couldn't start the day without it.
So....I think maybe if we wanted to 'fit in' we could force ourselves to drink it...and eventually it's possible we would like it...too?
So when I 'go for coffee' with a friend...I have tea.
