What are the symptoms of Bartonella, and do they include weight gain?

Title.

Someone told me they have it and have a bad weight gain problem, and that treatment also causes them weight gain. My doctor and I are struggling to find out what exactly is wrong and causing wonky hormones/liver function/gut issues.

I’m not sure about the weight gain - I lost weight when I first started getting symptoms.
But I think some people do gain weight with bart

Some symptoms:

Swollen and/or sore lymph nodes
Bone pain
Rib pain
Foot pain - especially the soles
Anxiety
Stretch marks or “cat scratches” on skin
Urinary urgency (Barty bladder)
Eye issues
Severe nervous system involvement (numbness, burning, shooting pains )


I had all of the above symptoms except for eye issues and the stretch marks/striae on skin.
There are a lot more symptoms and there is overlap with Lyme and Babs.

I also lost weight and muscle along with girlie.

Welp. I have none of those. I wish I could figure out what exactly I do have.

Weight gain is a result of inflammation. It's not specific to bartonella.

The inflammatory response tries to deny sugar to the bacteria by storing the sugar as fat, and shifting metabolism to protein catabolism. This works well for typical infections where you are only sick for a week or two. With chronic diseases, it becomes a big problem.

Anyone know if this sounds like it:
Current symptoms
occasionally -

Burning on tops of toes
Swollen painful neck gland
Hurting in chest on side of sturnum
Fatigue
Am anxiety

Many more that aren't current.

I have bart - it appears to be my dominant infection. I had a swollen, painful lymph node in my clavicle area.
I also had anxiety - any time of the day....for a few months...now it's only when I wake up in the morning.
Burning toes - could also be bart.

There is a lot of cross-over with symptoms and infections.....

Oh awesome my muscles are catabolizing themselves. Well I have joint and muscle pain lately, along with the weight gain, I'm sure I have some kind of inflammation. I really don't even eat sugar except in pretty small doses. Also I have sleep issues. And then the mental symptoms of depression. Those are my main symptoms.

That seems like typical symptoms of Lyme disease, rather than bartonella.

Well I definitely have that one lol. There must be other things in the mix though. I forgot my digestion and hormones, and liver to an extent, are also screwed up.
