Racing Thoughts / No Thoughts / Can't Focus or Concentrate

Hey all,

It's been a while; posting again for my wife. Her brain is driving her crazy, makes her feel like she is crazy.

The most common feeling is that her brain is racing, like it's going 100 mph and she can't slow it down. She couldn't sit down and meditate in silence if her life depended on it. Oddly enough it races and she HAS TO stimulate her brain. She plays music/background noise a lot.

She can't concentrate on anything, not able to focus. Going to bed is difficult because she can't quiet her brain.

Lack of clear thinking just makes her feel like she's going crazy. Like her brain is on some sort of caffeine buzz - she just never feels calm and relaxed. Her brain is always wired, but her body is exhausted.

Wanted to know if anyone experiences the same and what they do to help it. Bonus points for what causes an uneasy brain and how to heal it. We are going for a nuerofeedback session with a psychologist next Monday - hoping that can calm and settle the brain!

Is she currently treating the infection(s)? and if so, has there not been any improvement thus far?

As far as symptomatic relief...what has she tried?
Some ideas:

- Jernigan's Neuro-Antitox II CNS/PNS

- Nutramedix Pinella / Nutramedix Burbur

- IV Glutathione

- molybdenum

BDRoland - Iike many here in the past and present, Ive experienced this and tried almost everything.

If you were to make a top downn flow chart,of this:

-the top would scream Anziety - that is what you are describing to a "T"
-the bottom would list the many causes of this from malfunctioning body sub systems from tick illness
-the middle would show the connections

I can almost guarantee these affordable supps below can provide some relief NOW, in order of time to work:

1)Niacin (the face flushing feel type-goggle it), very fast, for short term immediate
2)Holy Basil caplets (any health store $15) powerful, fast and long term safe, can lower blood sugar
3)Valerian or passion flower caplets or tea (might fall asleep)
4)Magnesium that ends in "ATE", be specific in ate, long term use safe (too much and you run to the can)
5)Lithium orotate (takes a while at start, but works gradually, interferes with thyroid meds)

These above all work from different angles, some work on multiple areas. The above are safe bandaids for the below causes.

Anxiety can be from short term and long term issues:
- adrenals (take a while to heal, get stabilized)
- toxic methalation/detox backed up (detox and critter irradiation)
- gut health effecting brain hormones and leaky gut, food sensitivities (long term diets required to fix)
- yeast gut overgrow (
-*thyroid, hypo and hyper, must test tsh, ft3, ft4, tsi, tpo, tgab if never looked into based on anziety
-all the above can be influenced by the changes tick pathogens cause

**Once its calmed down, figure out the cause. Anxiety is terrible, calm it SOON not months from now.**

Figuring out the cause at first might take take to long, make that your long-term homework part of curing lyme and co infections or adrenals, diet, thyroid ect. Some gets corrected by eliminating the infection, some you need to treat individually per issue or both- its all trial.

Been there, fixed most of it, whats left can vary from my hashimoto thyroid levels though (thyroid IS our gas peddle).

Any niacin that does not say “ non-flushing “ will work. It’s a weird feeling for 30 seconds. An NP Dr told me this trick, used only when needed most.

Diet I’ve done and tried to perfect in many stages over about two years. I gave up on guessing and went to a dietician who uses the Leap MRT food test. You can search this forum with astroman leap MRT to find my past posts.

The face flushing feeling, it does this for 30 sec-1 min or so, Im not exaggerating it feels very odd.

Some Niacin is advertised as "non- face flushing" - and this does NOTHING for anxiety- google this info and see, I've tried both.

I had a low cytokine (per my blood) T-day dinner and feel great as opposed to past years I felt terrible after. Last year all the combined winter holiday eating sent me into a two month gut spiral, now I know why.

- and that is also overworked adrenals, so she prob has anxiety and adrenal issues. Holy basil works for both.

If you goggled wired and tired- it says adrenals all over the place.

This can go all day but is usually worse at some point in the day. And a really stressful event can send you "over" and requires you to be able to control it with your mental reassurance that you can and will deal with it in a controlling manner. Knowing you can do this is half the battle till it gets better overall in time.

I had this symptom, it was awful; wired-tired and unable to rest relax in my own body or string thoughts together in a cohesive manner. I likened it to my thoughts being on ice skates and they would slip slide all over the place. I had no control over them, no concentration, absolutely aggravating. I believe mine was namely due to babesia as the symptoms would wax/wane over a weekly cycle, has dissipated over time with treatment. But as I read the comments, it makes sense what astroman is saying about the adrenals, I do think the infections tapped out my adrenals and this was turbocharging those symptoms.

I've found higher dose l-theanine helpful. Full-spectrum cbd may be worth trying just to relax the mind/body.

Tuarine-
I have also used tuarine, helps with mental focus and brain fog didnt relax much though. Some of what I mentioned relaxes the brain more than focus. I found combining these worked good for morning at work.

Tuarine is the magic in RedBul combined with caffeine, but less per oz than coffee. I used to depend on that stuff to function when I could hardly sleep.

MSG-
Its included on the MRT common food test which also covers about 25 food chemicals including FDA food dies. Went back and looked at my results, which shows I have no cytokine reaction to MSG, but i've still avoided it.

Testing For and Treating The CBS Gene Mutation:
Testing for the CBS gene mutation is fairly easy and can be done through a genetic testing service such as 23andMe. Once you receive your 23andMe results, head over to geneticgenie.org, upload your 23andMe results, and you’ll get a profile breakdown of not just your CBS gene, but other genes as well.
Treating the CBS gene mutation isn’t too difficult and takes roughly 6 to 8 weeks to do. You can learn the specifics of treating the CBS gene mutation on page 129 of Dr. Amy Yasko, M.D.’s free e-book “Autism: Pathways to Recovery”. To give you a general idea, treating a CBS gene mutation consists of:

• Avoiding high sulfur foods and supplements to keep sulfur levels down
• Avoiding foods that contribute to high levels of ammonia in the body
• Reducing levels of taurine and detoxifying ammonia if taurine levels rise
• Supplying the body with nutrients depleted by this cycle
To simplify this, start by avoiding high sulfur foods, high sulfur supplements, and reducing protein intake to decrease ammonia production in the body. Once your diet is set, get a UAA (urine amino acid) profile to determine taurine and ammonia levels in your body, a 24 hour urine collection sample to determine sulfate levels in the body, and a basic blood test to determine molybdenum, manganese, and copper levels.
Once your testing is complete, to bring down excess ammonia levels, consider the herb yucca root with charcoal/magnesium flushes. The amino acid L-ornithine in high dosages has also been shown to be very helpful in bringing down excess ammonia levels. Make sure your manganese levels are adequate, as it’s important for ammonia detoxification.
To bring down excess sulfur in the body, you’ll need the trace mineral molybdenum. Molybdenum will convert toxic sulfites into their less toxic form sulfate, which can then be safely removed from the body via urination. A dosage goal for molybdenum is 300 mcg per day (according to Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, M.D.), with some people needing as much as 500 mcg to 1000 mcg (according to Dr. Andy Cutler, Ph.D.). Be sure to monitor serum copper levels while supplementing with molybdenum at least once per month, as molybdenum can deplete copper from the body.
In addition to the information above, do not take vitamin B6 in a supplement form with a CBS gene mutation. Vitamin B6 is required by the CBS gene to work correctly, and if a CBS gene is already working too much, supplementing with vitamin B6 will speed it up even more, potentially worsening your condition.
