5 year old has possible Lyme Igenex Test Question

My little girl may have Lyme and co. I was pregnant with her and had it and did not know.
She started school this year and has been really sick for a couple months now. They just put her on Omnicef for strep throat and all last night she was up complaining of her head feeling squished. I get the head pressure when herxing, so I wasnt sure if that's what she was trying to convey to me. We have wanted to have her tested for other reasons as well...but this just excels the process.
I have an igenex test kit we just ordered and her pediatrician is going to sign off on it. However, he is not knowledgeable when it comes to this...I just want to know if she is on antibiotics...do I have to wait a certain amount of time before testing? It's been 4 years since my Igenex test...
Also...which one is best to do? I am waiting for my LLMD to get back with me, but sometimes I think they don't want to give advice if it's not their specific patient. I am so sick already and I really need to get this little girl better.

Hi Leah, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. I think it's ok to be on abx with the igenex WB. The main problem is if it is a recent infection and someone starts abx then the antibodies might not be produced. But if the infection has been around a while then I think it is inconsequential to be on abx, in fact I think at that stage abx can help provoke an immune response which can be helpful for the test. Hopefully others chime in on that issue in case I'm wrong.

Squished head/head pressure always makes me think babesia.

Yes I always think babesia with that too...I wonder if Omnicef targets something that would make her herx like that.

So glad it could help!

I'm not sure what omnicef covers, I think it hits a lot of intracellular pathogens though. But given the increase in head pressure makes me wonder if it might be having effect on babesia? If your daughter has trouble with antibiotic treatment, could also look into herbal tinctures for these infections. The thing I like with those is that you can carefully titrate based on what the patient can tolerate herx-wise.

Yes...she never showed really any symptoms...so we were always reluctant to test her. But, we asked several of my LLMDs about her through the years. Mine is so bad I can't even begin to treat because of mast cell and my neuro lyme is pretty bad as well bartonella and babesia. However, we are building a small small addition on my parents land with all non toxic mold free everything so I can begin rebuilding body and treating.
She went to a moldy school for 3 months and I was very against it, but we now have decided to homeschool her. But, poor girl has been hit pretty hard for the past 2 months. I think with her I will do alot differently...I'm glad we learned pretty much what not to do from me. I am Praying she bounces back and feels fine soon. I will def. Work on her diet as well. And she has no amalgams so that's a God Send. I will look into the herbals for sure and def controlling the doses. The doc wants her to start a 5 day course of azythromycin for her strep throat on Monday. They took her off omnicef because of diarrhea and she had c diff as a baby from a relative who was sick on hospice that we were visiting.
Lord please give us a break soon.
