Desmopressin for Low ADH

Has anyone taken this for low ADH? It is part of the Shoemaker protocol for CIRS. Many with CIRS have low ADH with normal to high osmolality.

My ADH has been low throughout. Osmolality was normal iniially, but when last tested in April, it was low, too. My regular blood tests are wonky and my doctor says it is from over hydration (drinking too much water).

I don’t drink too much water, IMO. It has to do with the low ADH and osmolality.

Wondering if anyone else has been treated for this with Desmopressin or similar, if it worked, and how long you had to take it.

You and I are very familiar. I always tested for low ADH but normal osmolality until last test it was high. I just started on a low dose of desmopressin and i was actually hoping it would do more. It helps me pee less but it also increased my spacey/zoned out feeling which was frustrating. Your osmolality being low may give you a better reaction though. I really hope this gives you some improvement

I take 0.1mg desmopressin twice a day. I had to work my way up to it. I have low ADH even on the Desmo. I also have to do saline infusions 4 times a week. My sodium does drop and they don't know if it's because of desmo or not. But, without the desmo my body is really struggling. So we are still trying to adjust everything. If you do start I would start super low and see how you feel. You can always increase. And I would get a BMP done like once a month at least...get BMP first then check after taking it.
