So I have posted before but I’m just so confused. Based off of finding an engorged female deer tick stuck in my skin and that I got a rash coupled with my extensive amount of symptoms I felt like maybe I did actually catch Lyme disease. However the internal medicine doctor that my pcp sent me to that was supposed to start treating me totally is making me second guess my gut. He said Lyme disease doesn’t exist here and that if I don’t have Bell’s palsy or heart block that I definitely do not have it anyway for sure because those are the only symptoms. He also said because my joints affected are the hip joints that I don’t have it bc some peoples hips just randomly swell and the people that truly have Lyme disease have knee pain. So now I am second guessing everything one because of that doctor and 2 bc my western blot only showed a IGG 41ab result. It would have been 2006 when I would have caught it if I did so would I have an IGG lyme specific band be positive if I had it and not just a non specific 41 band? I’m really ill and I just want to make sure that it’s possible to have Lyme without testing positive for a specific Lyme band. Thanks so much.

By rash, I assume you mean the bullseye rash. That is definitive for Lyme disease. Find an LLMD.

Yes but it wasn’t huge. So despite the fact I didn’t test positive for a lymph specific band it could still be? I asked if I could be put on a trial oral antibiotics and see how I do and he said that would be malpractice. But seems my tonsils being red and swollen and my lymph nodes being swollen would be enough reason to start antibiotics but I guess not.😢

Yes, you need to start treating. Many doctors just don't know how to treat Lyme and have outdated information about the disease.

Please find a LLMD. You will be glad you did.

I started telling him my symptoms and he cut me off. Said none of the symptoms were Lyme related. He said only nymph ticks bite. Lol I know female deer ticks bite 100% I don’t understand how this guy is capable of treating when he knows nothing about tick diseases.😢

find an LLMD. you are going down the same path of misdiagnosis that countless people have went through.

it will not get better ignoring it, it will only get worse and be harder to treat. and the internal medicine doctor will not be accountable when it does. his response is the textbook denial response of a ill-informated or ill-trained doctor.

You need to find a LL dr for treatment.
Your regular dr is an idiot - wonder how he made it through med school - not joking.

He’s got his head in the sand if he thinks lyme isn’t in your location.

If I were you I wouldn’t have any more discussions with him - it’s only upsetting you.
And I’m afraid at some point you’ll fatigue and start listening/believing him.

Please please get a LLMD.

I never got Bell's palsy or heart block from Lyme disease. I got pain in my knee and hip.
