It's been a bit weird in all honesty - my wife has been feeling better than she has done in *years*. Her daily headaches have dissipated, she has a lot more energy and her other symptoms have been next to non-existent. . . . My question has anybody else experienced such a quick positive response? . . . . It's almost like we want a herx to come along just to prove everything's working correctly. It feels too good to be true that her body's telling her at this moment that all's well!!
Ceebs,
That is wonderful news how your wife has improved so much!!!
I did not improve quickly, but I'm a complicated case. I have heard of others both on this forum and on Buhner's site report quick responses similar to your wife, even after years of illness.
I think it will be important to pay close attention and take notes in the weeks and months ahead to determine what symptoms remain and which infection is likely to be at play.
I would not advise changing her protocol too soon. Keep her on it. From my understanding, it takes a minimum of 4 months to treat babesia through the entire life cycle.
Treatment for infections should continue a couple of months past symptom resolution.
Once she fully treats babesia, I would recommend treating bartonella and Lyme with the Byron White formulas, too, even if she seems to have no symptoms. When one infection is dominant, the other infections may be asymptomatic but still be present in the background.
It's also possible that she could be symptom free at some point and then have symptoms return or new symptoms show up. If that happens, do NOT panic or throw in the towel. My LLMD told me treating these infections is like playing whac-a-mole. You beat down one infection and another one pops up. You just keep treating what's there until it's all gone.
