I have no gi or digestive issues but apparently do have leaky gut.
Hey, k07. How were you and your doctor able to definitively make this conclusion? The reason I ask is because I've had varying tests that seem to contradict each other. Of course, a certain degree of gut permeability is required and normal. But, obviously, an excessive amount is problematic, to put it mildly.

My issues are more malabsorption of vitamins/minerals, allergies.
These are things I question in myself, too. But, again, the money I've dumped into conflicting tests has only resulted in me taking loads of expensive supplements. (Which I stopped a couple of months ago.) That's great for the doctors, but not so much for me. :-( So,
if I
do have malabsorption (I have one food allergy about
which I'm aware), the supplementing of isolated nutrients didn't do much for me. I doubt "lack of expensive multivitamins" is listed in the DSM.
I think practitioners should refund us for supplements and remedies, when they don't work as suggested.

My ANA is now positive (neg before) with a mild positive rheum factor.
I've had three ANA tests from two doctors -- two positives from one doctor and a negative from the other. They were all performed within a few weeks of each other. That resulted in me getting sent to a Rheumatologist for a workup. The one positive/abnormal result was for "Double-Stranded DNA (DSDNA) Antibody, IgG by ELISA" -- about
which no one seemed to be concerned. I asked about
diet and lifestyle interventions to help manage my pain. The Rheumatologist told me (1) diet doesn't matter, and (2) the only "treatment" he could offer was a prescript
ion for pain medication. I ignored #1 and declined #2. That was almost five years ago and never saw him again. My migrating aches/pains in my joints/muscles subsided on their own, thankfully. We have lots to talk about
so I’ll start a new thread!
