Trying to rule out Lyme and/or Babesia, starting Anilia, advice?

I posted a couple of days ago about trying to figure out if chronic Lyme is behind my health issues that I've had for the past 5 years. For a while I've been trying to optimize the gut, thyroid, and adrenals (where most of my symptoms seem to come from) and believing those to be my "root cause" issues.

After taking some advice from here and from reddit as well, I saw a LLMD yesterday. We decided to hold off on IGeneX testing for now, and start with a trial of Alinia (Nitazoxanide) and see if I have any die-off reaction or feel better.

I strongly suspect that Lyme/Babesia or just Babesia is something I'm probably dealing with. Just looking at this site https://www.gordonmedical.com/babesia-like-organisms-bablo-consideration-signs-and-symptoms/ I have a lot of symptoms that match up like anxiety, trouble sleeping, emotional, and a pressure/tension headaches.

I'm nervous about some potential die-off, but excited at the same time to hopefully figure out if Lyme is what I'm dealing with or not. At the same time I'm also still trying to optimize my gut, thyroid, adrenals, and hormones through supplements and diet to start feeling better, as even if Lyme ends up being the root cause, it can't hurt.

Any advice? Thanks a bunch!

I did show him that, he wasn't familiar with Armin Labs but said we wouldn't ignore it.
I also asked around about that test and the responses I got were mostly unsure what to make of it. It's a super low positive but a positive nonetheless.

I'm not sure she needs more testing. A positive for lyme from Armin Labs.

And, i believe the bartonella was positive as well.


Dr. J uses response to antimicrobial treatment (ie herx) as significant...confirmation of testing plus clinical diagnosis.

I see this as a win-win.

Either I don’t react with die-off or notice any improvement on the Alinia trail, in which case I might then do testing.

Or I have horrible die-off and/or feel much better with the Alinia, and we can pretty confidently assume I’m dealing with Lyme.

Only reason I haven’t done testing yet is the cost.

How would one go about using a microscope to confirm infection? Are there labs that will look at your blood under a microscope for you?

Haven’t noticed anything yet with Alinia but it’s only been two days at 1/4 a tablet.

I took 500 mg twice a day for 5 days straight and didn't notice anything either.
