Questions for Dr. J patients

I have finally got to the point where I need a new Dr. With my previous doctors I have improved, but then plateaued. I have lost confidence in them so I needed to move on.

Next month I have an appointment at the J clinic. My questions are; at the completion of the first visit will they do labs at there location or will I be given scripts to be taken at my local labs? Also will they prescribe any medicines at that visit, or will they evaluate my case and then at the next appointment prescribe medicine?

I am anxious to move on to the next chapter of this fight. If you do not want to discuss this in this forum, please feel free to email me.

You can do the lab work at the Quest Lab (in same building - upstairs ) or take the lab req and do them when you get home.

I’m in Canada so most labs are free so I went home and did the majority here - my regular Dr rewrote the lab req for our lab - but there were a few I couldn’t get here - so at my next visit I went to Quest and had them done there.

It’s a lot of tests they want done.

I was prescribed abx right away plus some other Pharma to address my pain.

I’ve read here on the forum that some members have not been given scripts for abx right away - as they want them to stabilize first - ie address sleep, pain issues etc first.

I think it depends on how well you’re functioning - they may not want you to start treatment if you’re in rough shape... and give you a few months to address sleep, pain , psych issues etc.

what where some of the "stabilizing meds" that were recommended ?

I was put on antibiotics right away since I was stable and already on antibiotics with another doctor. They will probably put you on an easier protocol for the first few months than ramp up the intensity after that. At least that was my experience. You can do labs wherever you prefer. They have been very easy to work with.
