I did a test about a year ago for leaky gut that was positive and had ibs as one of my biggest symtoms. In December last year I got back test what showed high amounts of mold.
With diet change, binders, mold treatment, collagen etc my stomach is so much better.
Still not healed but bigger tolerance for sugar and alcohol. I can now eat salted potato chips that is lightly fried.
I havent tried that many fodmaps but the ones I have tried I have been able to tolerate better then before.
What test did you have and what lab? I haven’t been tested. I have IBS-C and mold. I been detoxing mold for 2.5 years now but nothing has affected the constipation except a mass expulsion of something (Candida? ropeworm? mystery stuff?) a year ago. Constipation returned slowly afterward in about
5 days. No more breakthroughs with the constipation, even with later expulsions of ropeworm. I haven’t done any diets except an elimination diet very early on. It didn’t eliminate any symptoms so eventually I went back to eating whatever.
Do you have to stop treatment to do the leaky gut test? Should I even bother testing or just assume I have it? My Lyme doc assumes I have it.
