I would think that you should feel change with antibiotic treatment.
I am in a similar boat. I am now on week six of doxycycline 100mg 2xday. For me though, it has made a significant difference. The first week or so I felt worse than I have ever felt, but then it was amazing how I started to feel almost back to somewhat normal,,,,maybe 80 percent. I went from barely being able to function where I could hardly walk normal and thought I was going insane, intense nerve firing and deep pain, fatigue, etc etc etc to having minimal pain and having energy again--enough to even golf!
And I cannot afford LLMD or non insurance treatments, and now I wonder where I go from here. My dr. is doing 8 or 9 weeks of doxy.
BUT my point is this. I have been going through this for over 20 years and I kept saying I thought it was Lyme. But diagnosed with all the other wrong things, RA, Fibro, etc etc and ONE DAY I had a bacterial infection so they put me on FLAGYL and it was life changing. I finally for the first time in 20 years had NO pain. whatsoever. This made my doctor suspect lyme and going through all my millions of dr appts and symptoms determined chronic lyme and now I am on doxy. I need more than this.
CAN I DO DOXY AND FLAGYL AT SAME TIME???
Hi lamazak - that post was from 2014 - funny to see one of my first posts on the forum.
I believe doxy and Flagyl can be taken together. I currently take mino and Flagyl
It will be difficult to get a non lyme doc to prescribe you the abx that is needed. It takes many months to years to treat these infections.
