Bartonella babesia Lyme Doctor Plan

Hi all,

My doctor just prescribed me trial a plan to see what is the best treatment for me:

Doxycline 100 mg 2x day for 14 days with Flagyl 500 mg intermitent days

Pause for 2 weeks and take malarone 200mg during those.

Roxythromicin 300mg/day for 14 days with Flagyl 500 mg intermitent days

Pause for 15 days with malarone for 10 days

Cefixin 200mg / day for 14 days and Flagyl 500 mg
intermitent days

I think there is some kind of tecnique behind this strategy. Perhaps someone can figure it out here?

Is this a Lyme Literate dr prescribing this?

The doses of the meds are too low.

And there should be combos of abx - ie not taking Ceftin alone.. etc

No, if you noticed, i am taking first 14 days doxycline combined with flagyl intermitent days on flagyl

But are you taking something with the malarone? maybe I misunderstood.

Doxy dose is half of what's usually prescribed.

I take Ceftin 1000 mg twice daily.

200 mg is low.

And what are you taking for Bartonella?

With malarone indeed not. Why would be that?

Doxycycline has activity against Bartonella spp.
and is recommended as first-line therapy for many
of these conditions, either alone, or in the more
serious illnesses, combined with other agents such
as gentamicin or rifampicin. It is generally given for
prolonged periods.

For Babesia, mepron or malarone is paired with an antibiotic.

For chronic bartonella, never alone - always combined with a second (sometimes third) antibiotic.

This is why Lyme literate dr's are needed to treat us.

Uh oh. I wonder if I have him listed as a LLMD.

I wish you luck, but his protocols aren't in line with what experienced LLMD's prescribe.

Yeah, i know. But he is only isolating malorone. Dont know why. He also said this sequences are only to find the best effective treatment for me. He is rotating abx, pulsing? Its a sequence he said..

Thank you for asking Girlie. Im am now on cefixime as tolerated last week i tolerated 4 days then brain herx was too much. My brain was like explodind refusing to shut down for sleep, tried several sleep meds, all failed. Had to stop. Today i started cefixime again with 250mg zithro, now waiting for the bomb to explode again. If all goes well tommorow add nac. If not stop again.

I would like to say that for the first time i discovered that first early symptom in life related to Lyme was sleep paralysis and nightmares with speaking loud. I always thought it was normal, anxiety or something. But I CANT BELIEVE WHEN I started abx last year my brain herx included exacly that same symptoms, sleep paralysis and nightmares, and they are now frequent every time when i hit with abx. Now the most and great mystery is that it all started when i was 15 years old. I am now 43. So i have it for 28 years creating an Empire in my brain only to wake up and unleash the BEAST in my brain that was kept for decades in my brain protected by thousands of biofilms layers. Eventually the biofilm could not find more space in my brain to grow and my brain exploded. Unbelievable.

28 years is a long time... so sorry.


Just keep at it...plugging away...it will take time. I hope you are able to tolerate today's meds without too much suffering!

My concern too with taking Mepron for just 2 weeks and stopping for 2 weeks, Babesia replicates pretty quickly and it seems with having 2 weeks off not treating, you’ll be back to square 1. From what I know, Babesia should be treated continually for about 4 months or longer only taking a day off here and there if the herx becomes severe. My Dr. also does combos of antibiotics to prevent resistance to the antibiotic.

I took Mepron for 3 days week 1 and 5 days week 2.
Then 2 weeks off.
Taken with two abx plus artemisinin and Enula
