Avoiding false negative on DNA C test

Hi! It’s been a while since I’ve been here because I was symptom free for a month. Thanks to a period of high stress, some of my symptoms returned. Luckily they are mild. I restarted some herbs and adopted a keto diet with improvement again pretty quickly. I went on vacation after a week so the diet got abandoned lol. Now I have some malaise and brain fog but that’s it. It’s to the point that I feel mostly well, but maybe off, so do I still have something or not ugh.

Anyway...my llmd is switching to a new protocol and recommended the DNA Connexions test. He said to start the new protocol with more herbs for co-infections and take the test after 4-10 days with hopes any die off would help the organisms DNA be detectable. I was also reading on the instructions about exercise before. What have you all done prior to the test to maybe help avoid a false negative?? I feel weird for thinking I want it to be positive, but that’s a ton of money for a negative result lol

I did the DNA Connexions test, twice. The first time, I exercised and sweat then followed the directions for collection. I got a positive result for one of the less common forms of Bartonella, but the Borrellia didn't show up. Borellia was detected through a C-6 Peptide test (blood).

Second test, I had a deep tissue massage, which cost another $85.50. This test came back completely negative, but another c-6 Peptide showed that I still had Borrellia. And, I still have/had Bartonella symptoms.

So, two DNA Connexion and a massage, for a grand total of $1,085.50, and it didn't do much for me. I still have lyme, but the DNA Connexions test wasn't for me. I wish I had done the exercise for my second test, too, because I hated the massage, the oil she used, and I didn't feel it was a true deep tissue massage.

However, there are many people who have used this test, and it's the only test that's confirmed that they had Lyme. If you'd had other tests come back negative, it may be worth it to test one time and see what it reveals.

Thank you for your response. I did end up exercising this morning and then peed in the cup lol. I am hoping to see if I have any other coinfections. Up to this point I haven’t really addressed anything other than lyme aggressively. I think I figured out that I’m having flares around and during my period, but otherwise the other weeks are better.

I feel weird about spending the money for this test, but hope maybe it will give a clue on what’s going on.

I think it's a good idea. It may prove to be very valuable for you. I'm glad I did the first one.

a friend with visually confirmed borrelia via microscopy just tested negative on dna connex . i guess the new method is not as sensitive as the old one , cdc probably got to them...

Ugh that’s disappointing! I’ll see what happens. I was feeling bad yesterday when I took the test and I feel better today, so hopefully something came out yesterday that they can detect. If it comes back all negative I guess it won’t change what I’m doing but ouch goodbye $600 for nothing

Did DNA Connexions change their test in the last year or two? I hadn't heard that. I thought it was supposed to be one of the most accurate, but I didn't find it that reliable.

A few months ago, someone posted something about the CDC. Apparently, they are now recommending that doctors used the CDC guidelines as a starting point. If a patient tests negative, doctors are supposed to use their common sense to make a determination as to whether or not it the symptoms could be Lyme related and treat as needed. The CDC must be starting to realize that their tests aren't reliable. I can't seem to find the article, but that's what I got out of it when I read it.
