PK Protocol - Phosphatidyl Choline, etc

My Lyme doc wants me to try phosphatidyl choline to repair cell membranes. She initially wanted me to do IV and take a soy lecithin supplement. Saw her this week. Now she wants me to take the Patricia Kane phosphatidyl choline supplements, as she is the one who created the protocol.

I do not know what the full protocol actually is. I had heard Patricia Kane’s name before but didn’t really know anything about her, so I just searched the internet. What I found was very negative - not a medical doctor, telling ALS patients they don’t have ALS and then they died anyway (disgruntled families), removal from position at clinic, etc.

So . . . . asking you fine folks if anyone has done this PK protocol in full or phospatidyl choline IV or oral supplements and what if any effects did you notice from it.

Is this “doctor” and her protocol legit or a bunch of money-making bunk?

I like my doctor. She’s nice and seems to care about her patients. However, my impression is that she goes to various conferences and hears about various protocols and tries them out on her various patients without really knowing or understanding much.

I told her about my experience with the Microbe Formulas Mimosa pudica - how I took it at full dose for 5 weeks and passed a lot of ropeworm during that period but never felt better and felt increasingly worse, which is why I stopped after 5 weeks. She seemed shocked when I told her I never felt better and instead felt worse.

Even the info I have read on Microbe Formulas and patients blogs indicate that you can indeed feel worse. I’m shocked that my doctor is shocked. Either my doc is a sweet, clueless lady or I am an unusual patient who doesn’t respond like the other 99.9%. Which is it?

I think bluelyme? Did some of this. Maybe search the forum for their posts. It was recently mentioned it in a topic started by Saraeli under connective tissue and nerve pain I think.

Yeah I did a brief search. Bluelyme is the only current member I saw who said they took it and benefited from it.

I believe Neil Nathan mentions it in his new book, Toxic. I want to hear more patient experiences not just doctors talking stuff up.

I am taking her oral PC. She is a PHD, so more on the research side as opposed to treating patients with medical drugs. Too early to tell if it is yielding improvements, however I know one girl who healed from lyme doing only the PK protocol. I also know that the main treatment for epigenetic blocks found on the IGL test is to use PC to scrub the cell membrane.

Thx, Sheekster. What is the IGL test? Am I supposed to have some kind of testing before starting the phosphatidyl choline? My doctor did not mention any kind of test.

Thx. I don’t plan on taking ALA. I do have a sublingual B-12 with folate that I’m supposed to take and the doc told me to be sure to take P5P with it. I’m wanting to get my vitamin and mineral levels checked before I start supplementing, as I have never had them checked other than a couple of them.

The doc did tell me when I saw her this past week that IV PC can cause a herx or increase in symptoms especially if you’re still exposed to mold (I am).

hey WalkingbyFaith & Sheekster - do you have any PK Protocol experience updates? I'm down to one symptom, which is vision/cognitive processing especially when I'm driving. My new LLMD is recommending the PK protocol and I just sent off my blood samples for the fatty acid test. I'm curious about your outcomes over the past several months.
