Just thought I’d post this lighthearted tidbit. Might make someone laugh or smile.

So . . . those who read my posts know I have been sleeping in the car for a few months and donning a hazmat suit and respirator mask to go in the house because of mold. The neighbors see me. I can only imagine what goes through their minds. I try not to think of myself as the neighborhood weirdo.

Well, this afternoon I came home and noticed the front door was open at the house across the street - revealing a lighted Christmas tree in the living room. And it’s only the first week in October. Not that there’s anything wrong with a Christmas tree. Just a little strange to have one in October.

Xmas tree in October - yikes.

I even think November is too early.

Unfortunately even those that know your situation would think it odd - as they just don’t “get it”

While I'm sure you look weird I get it too lol. I hate when people start decorating for Christmas this early. But I'm also a Halloween freak so I'm just fully engaged in spooky season right now. I'll celebrate Christmas come December.

WBF: I had no idea you have to wear a hazmat suit and mask to go into the house sad I'm sorry. I pray that you get better soon so you don't have to sleep in the car or wear protective gear inside your home.

And as for the neighbour putting up a christmas tree, well that is definitely interesting! LOL. I mean talk about someone getting a head start on the holidays! Good on them. I don't celebrate Christmas but Christmas trees make me so happy. I love them, how pretty they are and how they give off such a nice glow when lit smile

is it possible you can build a small sturdy 200sf/120sf shed with insulation and light? Sleeping in a car can't be fun. This is because of mold right?

WBF sorry to hear that it has come to this for you. I hope you are in a warm climate. Hope you are least have an suv. I have spent many nights in the back of a Toyota 4runner and a Toyota RAV4 pretty comfortably with a cheap air mattress. Maybe set up an outfitter tent with a wood burner in your yard if it's going to get cold soon? Really hope things improve for you soon. Thinking about you. It sucks how money or lack thereof can affect our lives in such a profound way. Wish I could help. On a side note our local Walmart had Christmas stuff out two weeks ago!

Hey, guys! I didn’t even see all these posts until now. It’s still been hot during the day, but the night temps are dropping this week. I don’t know what I am going to do yet.

I was hoping the mold remediation would start soon. Actually, it should have been done long ago. Everything is just dragging out endlessly. Still waiting on the contractor to send updated paperwork for another review before we sign a contract. Then it’ll be another 2 weeks or so before work starts. I’m getting anxious about it. I just want it over with already.

I am surviving better than I ever imagined I could. I actually sleep reclining in the front seat. I tried sleeping on the back seat, but it was very uncomfortable.

WBF: where do you live if you don't mind me asking. It's starting to get cold near me as well and I feel it inside my home already! I really hope things get better for you soon so you can go inside and get good sleep on a bed. Do you go inside your home during the day?

Walkingbyfaith, have you heard of the Close protocol for mold remediation? I just read about it, basically it uses atomizing diffusers with thieves oil to eliminate the mold/mycotoxins. You can check it out at nature's mold rx. I had a remediation company do some work on the house and spent thousands, but unfortunately they only worked on the visible mold and weren't comprehensive enough. I got sick not too long after. So now I'm going to try the close protocol, hopefully it helps.

With fall here, you would first think thats good for mold sufferers, it might be in the south (?). Or is it just a cooler , still high humid environment? Ive only been in the "sweat belt" in the summer..........wont be going back(!)

It looks like everywhere in the US besides the desert west has been soaked with rain, so much for a dry fall.

In the northland, the cool fall ground is almost always damp and moldy/decaying smelling - opposite vs summer. If its a sunny fall day, but no wind, the humidity might be down from falls changed upper air currents (dropping down from canada vs upper current gulf/Texas air in summer), but its a damp funky smell from the ground and its decaying cover (leaves , dead wild grasses ect)..

For several falls Ive got some eye and eye lid reaction to this moldy air / ground.. So far only minutely this season, and ive stayed out of the woods cause its very wet this year - im thinking this is a connection (reaction or allergy) to my past gunky eye issues.
