My husband saw on tv this morning that a Boston news channel is reporting about insurance denying lyme patients coverage.

I missed it! It was on Fox News stemming from the lawsuit in TX against 5 large insurance companies. I thought Mass. passed a bill saying insurance did have to cover ongoing Lyme treatment but wanted to see what came out about this. It is ridiculous that specialists charge so much as they won't deal with insurance companies....

Just watched it - Blue Cross Blue Shield is the one denying coverage in Mass. even though the law for coverage was passed in 2016.

Unfortunately only way to keep advancing is through the courts and more laws being passed. There was also a segment in the Bay Are about parents fighting schools about ticks on sport fields.

Dr. J was one of the first ID Docs to treat HIV/Aids. He opened a clinic and developed a protocol to treat them.
He had lyme patients coming in - asking him to treat them...and then awhile after, he switched over to lyme treatment. (Since HIV/Aids treatment was established).

Sued several times...bankrupt more than once I believe....moved his practice a few times....

I am so very fortunate to be treated by him. (He's awesome in person....)

I may be bankrupt after it all - traveling the distance....but I have hope I will get better now...if I just stay with the program....and cross my fingers. smile

Each trip is a lot of $$ because I literally fly across the continent to see him. The airfare plus the hotels /meals (in US $$)

But my appts are further apart now so going forward it’s going to be easier financially
