There's a plethora of other options out there with potentially as good or better outcomes than long term abx. Anecdotal stories and studies such as the disulfiram study, BVT study etc. have shown that alternative methods to abx beat out the typical abx used in chronic lyme.
Well first of all the disulfiram study is brand new, so don't act like there's thousands of patients that are remission by using this drug already. Many are reporting too much herxing, neuropathy, fatigue and other side effects such as psyhcosis. And just because disulfiram is not classified as an antibiotic, doesn't mean it won't be reclassified as an antibiotic down the road due to it's antimicrobrial effects against borrelia persister cells.
"Repurposing Thiram and Disulfiram as Antibacterial Agents for Multidrug-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Infections"
https://aac.asm.org/content/61/9/e00898-17Dapsone is also an antibiotic that doesn't wreak havoc on the microbiome like as disulfiram and targets persister cells. And what you know, this longterm antibiotic helped quite a few lyme patients of Dr. Horrowitz's reach remission including his wife. He just reported his double dosage protocol having a a 'clinical' cure for patients (about
70/110).
https://www.facebook.com/drrichardhorowitz/posts/2523107367778046What do you think Dr. B used to help so many lyme patients Lyme24, one of the best doctors trained in this field, he used longterm antibiotics for majority of his cases in remission.

Rather than talking about
it, lets here these plehtora of options that have better outcomes?

Just using common sense one can surf around FB Lyme groups, reddit, this forum and see that the number of people truly getting better from long term abx only seems shockingly low
Wow, so all the patients that have been healed from Dr. H, Dr. J, Dr. B and Dr. S in New York and Washington DC are considered shocking low.
What did the majority of lyme patients in the Under Our Skin documentaries reach remission such as Mandy Hughes, from what I remember the only one that did use alternative medicine was Dana Walsh and she was the one that still seemed the sickest treating with Dr. K.
Who do you think has treated these celebrities like Darryl Hall, Shania Twain and Avril Lavigne. lol Stephen Buhner that doesn't have his high school degree? Most of the celebrities have used longterm antibiotics and the top lyme literate doctors like Dr. H.

Super sad for that lady. **** the CDC/IDSA. Just more confirmation for myself that antibiotics is NOT the long term answer for chronic Lyme. It took me 4 years of illness to finally come to peace with that. The quicker one can come to that conclusion the quicker you can try stuff that might actually work.
lol, not at all surprised someone in favor of alternative medicine would misinterpret this. Just because this lady still had biofilms and spirochetes in here doesn't mean antibiotics do not work.
Lets talk about
the misinterpretation, like how some herbalists such as Stephen Buhner claim biofilms are a hysteria.
Stephen Buhner said...
I am not a big fan of the biofilm hysteria that is common among the lyme community right now. ALL bacteria form biofilms. It is just a grouping of bacteria together in one location and the formation of a kind of rigid structure, similar to coral formation in the oceans, that they use to protect themselves. This is just ONE of a great many mechanisms bacteria use to protect themselves from immune responses or antibacterial substances and so on. It is no more dangerous or important than the bacterial ability to use efflux pumps to remove antibacterial substances from their cells or to use the immune system itself to hide from assault.
And what did Dr. Sapi say the reason why lyme is being chronic, biofilms!
https://youtu.be/_gojg7qzomw?t=12m15s And just so you are away, this case was posted by me a year ago, if you're looking for more in-depth discussion about
this particular case listen to what Dr. Sapi said while being interviewed by the Better Health Guy.
https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=4036339Question for you and your plethora of options Lymie24, I'm curious to know what better options are out there than antibiotics to treat biofilms at an effective rate?
Along with persister cells?
Drug resistant bartonella?
Babesia duncani?
Crossing the blood brain barrier to treat neuroborreliosis and neurobartonellosis for patients with severe neuro symptoms? What works just as good as minocycline, roxithromycin, dapsone or better yet intravenous antibiotics?
And please show me proof of these success stories... I have yet to hear the hundreds of remission stories you're talking about
and I've search many of the facebook groups, youtube videos and comments, as well as lyme forums and blogs for the last 8 years.
And while Dr. Sapi mentions Stevia as an option to antbiotics such as flagyl and tindamax, it still doesn't have the penetration or crossing the blood brain barrier as flagyl and tindamax does. So even if Stevia reduced biofilm colonies at 90%, because it can't cross the blood brain barrier or absorb as good as an antibiotic like flagy/tindamax, it will still won't be as effective as antibiotics.
And if you've listened to Dr. H's work, the most success he's had with stevia is when it's paired up with the antibiotic dapsone. Along with Dr. J on Xylitol and Lactoferrin with his persister cell antibiotics.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/pmc3132871/Dr. Sapi said...
When quantitative effects on biofilm-like colonies were evaluated, the five antibiotics reduced formation of these colonies by only 30%–55%. In terms of qualitative effects, only tinidazole reduced viable organisms by ∼90%.
It seems both an antibiotic and herb used together are a must to get full adequate treatment for drug resistant coinfections, persister cells, and biofilms. As Dr. H also reported success using oregano with bartonella antibiotics for his bartonella patients.

Not enough information - but I didn’t read the entire article.
No need to, listen to the Better Health Guy interview with Dr. Sapi to get more in-depth with this particular case and why she thinks antibiotic treatment failed
