What are your hobbies?

I'll start myself.

One of the small joys I had was driving my car at night, without going anywhere; just driving.

I'm talking about like going for a ride at 2 or 3am.

I would drive up a mountain and watch the view and put my window open.

I know that's silly, but I miss it now that I lost my car due to Lyme finances.

That's so cool ElizKA26, I love listening to piano.
I always thought it would have been nice to be good at music. Since I like listening to it.

Hobbies/sports - I used to run on a trail close to home, bike ride, play tennis, play the piano, go to movies at the theatre and listen to music.

I no longer do the sports but still do the movies, music and piano.
My new hobby since lyme is meeting a friend at a coffee shop to chat.

I love spending time in nature. We rented a house close to the water last weekend and it was very nice to have nature so close by.
Most weeks is 5.5 days school/work now, so not that much time for hobbies but I always make sure I get one or two walks in the woods a week. If going by myself I like to bring a joint also.

Working out is my second biggest hobby. I use dumbbells at home or go to a outdoor gym and bring olympic rings. I used to mountainbike a lot before, but I have been herxing from longer cardio lately so its been a while, but I hope to get a last ride before it gets to cold.

I also like reading sci fi books and watch comedy tv shows/movies.
Rereading a favorite from my childhood now. The Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.

I did buy a digital piano when my eyes where to dry to use screens for more then a short time per day. But it took to much time to learn how to play.

Traveling is the one I use to do that I haven’t been able to do since I got sick. I also miss being more social and having a nightlife which is age appropriate.

On the bright side I re-discovered guitar playing which helps keep my mind active and engaged. I still go run when I’m not herxing and try to lift weights as able. I also got into watching series, which I never did before.

Jb, I am an INFJ, so totally opposite from you LOL! I find it so fasinating and crazy how accurate the test is. I will have to redo the enneagram test soon, I forgot my number on there! That is cool that you are in school now, what is your major? TV and food are a big part of my life as well!

When I was sick, I did a lot of reading, drawing, and writing poetry. Now I like to listen to music a lot, and do things outside like running and biking. I also like to google random subjects and find out interesting facts, like that bananas and brazils nuts are slightly radioactive (and so are humans). I also like Myers-Briggs personality types (I am an INTJ).

Buddha - I'm getting my certification to be a library tech. And technically speaking, INFP is my complete opposite - we have opposite functions in the opposite order. INFJ and ESTP actually make a good pair because our functions are just inverted I studied and obsessed over this when I was at my sickest haha

probably more - its hard having too many interests to pursue and cultivate as a hobby hahah

I am doing much better than I was last year and thankfully most of my hobbies arent affected badly (yet? i dont know).

The most demoralising hobby that was taken from was going to the gym/weightlifting and feeling healthy with no worries and seeing your body develop, giving you a huge sense of accomplishment - life was good. I've lost loads of weight which devasted me but i think i am close to getting back into it - whether thats a sign of my recovery or not i dont know.

I honestly find topics like this depressing. I shouldn’t even be posting here.

Hobbies? . . . . I don’t think I’ve ever had any unless you can call shopping a hobby. I do a lot of that, even now. For me, it’s both a physical and mental outlet.

I dabbled in crafts a little but have very limited talent. I made a few no-sew fleece throws. I enjoyed making them, but I was already sick. One of the last batches I made, I got mentally confused and cut where I wasn’t supposed to. It was also hard on my body. I thought I might try it again if I ever move, but I doubt I could do it now mentally or physically.

I used to buy little wooden things at Michael’s and paint them with craft paint. I bought $$$ of scrapbook supplies with the intent of making a scrapbook of each side of my family. Never made anything with it. I left behind a ton of unused art supplies when I abandoned my moldy house. I used to find little art projects like that stress relieving and enjoyed them. I can’t imagine painting anything now with the chemical sensitivities I have. Sitting still and focusing like that with controlled movements would be painful if even possible now with my joints and muscles, ADHD, clumsiness, and cognitive issues.

I used to think I was the most dull and boring person I knew. Now I have trouble carrying on a meaningful conversation verbally without difficulty word finding or speaking or getting mentally exhausted trying to listen and follow what the other person is saying. Not that anyone ever wanted to have meaningful conversations with me. I would just end up jabbering away at my parents when I felt the urge to talk. They would engage a little and then tune me out.

I consider treating Lyme and researching to be a hobby too lol. I mean it takes up my time, though it's not really pleasurable like a hobby is
