I've been on exactly that dosage for several years and had the same concerns. My understanding has always been that it is used as a prevention as opposed to curative and that it can reduce it's efficiency after taking it for long periods. I just did a stool test and candida was only present by numbers as "few" as opposed to none, many or unacceptable levels. Functional Medicine doc added in caprylic acid to boost and I upped my probiotics.
thx Girlie, I'll also read Pirouettes post
I used to think Fluconazole killed yeast and Nystatin was a preventive, but my latest reading gives a different understanding. What I am reading is Fluconazole is used to treat systemic yeast and Nystatin kills Candida in the GI tract.
I already did 2 months of Fluconazole but didn’t notice anything much while on it. Doc also prescribed Amphotericin B, but I didn’t fill it. I think I need to schedule a phone consultation with the doctor about
it. I don’t think I could possibly do a Candida diet right now, and that’s a big deal, too.
