Are you sure that ropeworm is a real thing? I remember reading somewhere that it could actually be pieces of the person's intestinal lining that they are seeing...
Yes, it is absolutely a real thing. Nothing imaginary about
rope like masses coming out of your intestines. As far as whether ropeworm is an actual worm, meaning a helminth, there’s no definitive answer that I am aware of. People call it ropeworm because that’s what it looks like and there’s no other term for it, except possibly mucoid plaque. I don’t like that term, as I don’t think it is accurate.
What I can tell you is it has an effect on symptoms and it responds to herbs that are antifungal and antiparasitic as well as to Mimosa pudica. That indicates something. I have been seeing them since I developed sudden onset of IBS-C four years ago before I knew I had Lyme. Ropeworm is not something that should be ignored, IMO. Unfortunately, I won’t get much help until more research is done on it.
I would not doubt that some intestinal lining DNA could be identified in it. There were times when I passed large amounts of it, and for days to weeks prior, it felt like something was being ripped off the walls of my intestines. The feeling was so intense, I feared I would end up with bad leaky gut or even blood in my stool. Thankfully, that didn’t seem to happen.
Question is, WHY? Clearly the stuff is not normal.
