I tried disulfiram for 4 weeks and it gave me very bad neuropathy. It's difficult to say if it did much positive for me because it gave me neuropathy almost as soon as I started it. I thought it might be some kind of herx at first, but it turned out to be a side effect of the disulfiram. I did get some herxing from it such as night sweats and a few strange pains in my muscles, but the nerve pain became overwhelming in the end and I had to stop.
I have very bad neurological symptoms - particularly in the brain. Disulfiram can cause neuropathy, so anyone with bad neuro symptoms should be extra careful with it, but there are a lot of people who seem to be doing well on it.
The only lab tests I've had are for Borrelia, which were positive. That was done through Armin Labs in Germany. It was the Elispot that I had done. My CD57 levels were also low indicating immune suppression, but I don't know which coinfections I might have as I haven't been tested for those.
Disulfiram has only been researched for Borrelia in vitro and in mice so far, so there aren't any official clinical trials that show it to work in humans, but people on the Facebook groups seem to think it is helping. As far as I know, it hasn't been researched in any official way regarding its ability to treat Bartonella or Babesia though. Hopefully that will happen at some point. At the moment it is totally experimental, but more and more people are trying it. It will be interesting to see how things pan out
Hi Jova, i don't post on here often, most of my posts are me complaining about
my health, or just generally questioning everything. But felt like i should respond to you.
I am male, mid 30s... have super low CD57, tested positive on the Ispot test, tested positive for babesia as well. Since then tested positive for Mold toxicity. While i'm still not sure what is going on with me, i've kinda changed my way of thinking about
this illness. Instead of viewing it as a direct bacteria / mold = illness. I now see it as bacteria/mold leads to toxicity which causes illness.
I wonder if you could be struggling with heavy toxicity. Have you had your genetic detox profile done? If you keep getting sicker from all your efforts it might be that you can't detox the mycotoxins or other toxins properly. I barely ever sweat since i got sick, but forcing myself to exercise, sweat and be much better about
taking detoxing agents seems to have helped me some. I'm definitely not cured, or in remission, but overall i would say my health has improved when combo antibiotics and buhner herbs did nothing for me.
I'm also not saying ABX doesn't help, just that if you can't detox the mycotoxins it doesn't really matter how many of the little critters you kill.
