You have to really back up and use your mind. Thats what differenciates us from these bacteria. Our human intelligence. You have to understand what Lyme wants to do. What are its objectives. How does it behave in the body. What are its tendencies. No one on earth has laid this out better than Buhner. I know his work is referenced a lot here, but you really need to read his book Healing Lyme to understand how this disease behaves. Once you know how it behaves and what its trying to do, you then have to disrupt it, subvert it, destabilize it. Buhner refers to this as an intervention. You have to intervene and draw the line. You do it slowly, methodically, systematically and most of all pragmatically. Dont overcomplicate and dont lose faith based on others negative outcomes. Just do. What antibiotics are known to kill it? Doxy and ceftin. Start there. If you arent takng japanese knotweed, start. Even if you took it before and it didnt seem to help. It is remarkably specific to lyme inflammation pathways. You gotta stop the cellular damage, resupply the collagen matrix and most of all reduce inflamation. These are the objectives of the strategy.
For me there was no single magic bullet. about 4 months into the disease I took doxy ceftin and tinidazole for 90 days with zero progress, so I just gave up. I had no faith in herbs at that point if modern medical science wasnt helping. This was a mistake. So I just did nothing but research and hope for spontaneous remission for 3 long years. When that didnt come I finally started getting frustrated and desperate, but instead of panicking or pursuing IV antibiotics, I just started over with the basics.
Doxy and ceftin. I noticed small sympton relief quickly. Then I added Jap knotweed, otaba bark, cats claw, andrographis. I also took all the natural anti-inflammaotories I could find. Tumeric, CBD, ginger, Kudzu, chinese skullcap, raw manuka honey, and a lot of collogen powder and bone broth. Most of my problems were neurological and neuropsychiatric. I didnt have a lot of pain, but numbness and weakness, tremors, lack of coordination along with serious pshychiatric and personality changes. After just 6 weeks most of symptoms were gone, and I had my mind and my personality back. Tremors, and nightmares went away. Strngth and coordination came back. Despite all the negativity we see and hear about this disease, Buhner has said that such quick turnarounds are not at all uncommon.
And Cignet, on a practical note, if you are having problems with seizures, you need to start taking the highest dose CBD you can get your hands on. Get the highest concentration (1500-2000 mgs) even if you have to go into debt to do it. CBD is the best known treatment for seizures. It is remarkably effective for seizures. This is why so many states have been pressured to legalize it.
And on a personal note Cignet, this is personal battle. The CDC will never make it right. They have developed this as a tool to trap a portion of the faceless nameless mass populous. But you, my friend have a face and a name. And as Jeremiah 29:11 says, God has plans for YOU. "All the lives lost that can never be replaced, but still God chose to remember my face" is a song lyric that brings a tear to my eye and inspires me. You have to move out of the way of their meat grinder. You cant help all Lyme sufferers, only yourself and perhaps a very few others. It sounds selfish but its true. We arent going to win the cruisade. The powers that be have dug their heels in too far, and for them to admit any wrongdoing whatsoever would expose them to the type of liability that would ruin the CDC and IDSA. That will never happen. Its hidden wisdom and knowledge, but its out there. People often ask Buhner how he was able to develop such a comprehensive understanding of how what Lyme does in the body and make such an effective protocol with no formal medical training. He always says the answers were hiding in plain sight in published peer reviewed medical journals. But that doctors and the CDC "seemingly never bothered to look."
The biggest lesson I learned in all of this is the the real power of plants. Plants are they key to the cure. There is a plant that can cure any disease known to man. its just a matter of finding it and using it. You have to look into the past. See the plants used in Traditional Chinese medicine and ayruveda for thousands of years. They didnt have photo molecular flourescent testing to prove the 'efficacy' of these plants. They didnt need it.They didnt need drug trials or FDA approval. It was human intuition interacting directly with nature, and we've gotten so far away from that in our modern lives. One of the most compelling research papers I read in my journey was from China. It was a study of hundreds of lyme sufferers. Some were given doxy alone, and others were given doxy AND a 2000 yr old Chinese herb preparation called bai hu tang. Those taking antibiotics and the chinese medicine had much better outcomes. Symptoms went away faster and disease recurrence was much lower. Rate of total cure was over 85%.
So if this is a published medical fact, why wont our pharma companies include this more effective medicine? Because they cant patent it. Theres no profit motive there. We think capitalism leads to competition and the 'best' will win out, but if there is no profit motive, even the best ideas and practices will never come to light. They hate these plants. Thats why they ridicule herbal medicine and scare people about "unknown side effects" while at the same time approving and promoting drugs with KNOWN side effects of suicide or death. They would prefer we didnt know about these plants. They want to hide this ancient knowledge from us. But they are OURS. As humans they are a tool designed to be used by us for our healing as an inherent fundamental inaliable gift from God. (if you dont believe in God, then they are a gift from the nature)
We think our modern western medicine is so advanced, but it isnt. Its really just an inefficient ******ization of ancient plant medicine. The discovery of antibiotics was declared as a such a monumental step for humans, and no doubt it has saved countless lives, but it was nothing new. Scientists simply observed how nature dealt with microbes. How can a tree survive in the presence of harmful bacteria. They recognized antimicrobial fungus in the soil and said, BINGO. Then they developed a synthetic version of this antimicrobial fungus and it went on to save millions of lives and is heralded as some great "creation" of man. But again this was nothing new. Tetracycline has been discovered in the Egyptian tombs!
ALL of our modern drugs, even the most toxic un pronounceable complex chemotherapy compounds, were developed based the concept of "Bio-Mimicry" or "Bio-Memetics." We just mimicked what was already in nature. The same reason your hedge trimmers are shaped like a bird beak. We observed in nature that this was an effective tool for cutting branches, so we mimicked it.
As far as the specifics, Here is what I did....
https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=4127564
Its very long, and my plan included 5 phases. The 5th phase being recovery and health maintanence ( no active treatment) It turned out I didnt even need phase 3 or 4 which was to include rifampin and tinidazole. I am now on phase 5 and will remain there for the foreseeable future.
Once I saw how beneficial these plants were to my health, I decided to continue taking many of them as a daily practice even after healing. My herbal stack still includes Cats claw, jap knotweed and andrographis. But not for Lyme treatment just for good health and their cancer prevention properties. I also still take kudzu, holy basil, Eleuthero and ginger. Plus all vitamins and minerals, I still take high dose collogen and bone broth. I eat healthy, 90% home cooked. Work out hard 3x/ week and use the sauna everytime.
This has been my revelation. Plants in plant form and in drug form saved me, and I believe with all my heart they can save ALL of you as well.
You did a great job of taking all the info out there and putting it together. I sort of feel that you could have still beat it without doxy and certain but you will never know. You are right about
the japanese knotweed. Your mix of cats claw, andographis, otoba bark, oregano oil and stevia extract is perfect. You could always add some gou teng for more lyme killing. I've seen some doubters about
stevia but I think it does enter the body and do its magic. There is a reason that Horowitz still uses stevia and oregano oil for biofilms
