Dr J in DC vs Dr SP in Wilton

Hi,

I'm pretty new here. Looking for a recommendation for an excellent Lyme Dr. I've been reading a lot of posts, and sounds like folks respect/like Dr J in DC and Dr SP in Wilton. Dr SP is closer to me. I called his office and they said they don't treat mold. I have Lyme (CDC pos), TBRF (CDC pos), and mycotoxins. I'm not sure how important it is to treat the mycotoxins, or if they will go away when the Lyme is treated. I am also very histamine sensitive (aged food, leftovers, etc), tho not diagnosed with MCAS.

With my Lyme + histamine + mycotoxins, which Doc would you recommend?

Have you had success on the Dr J protocol with your PA so far? Do you mind emailing me the name/location of the PA you see? Part of what was turning me off from Dr J's clinic is the huge numbers of patients that go there and the difficulty getting a response from questions. I think that would be an issue for me. I like the have communication with the Doctor. It helps calm my anxiety and helps me feel confident.

That is the one drawback.

When you have a question in between appts - you call the triage nurse. You should get a response by the next day. They take your question to the NP or PA and then you get a call back.

It has gotten better - it used to sometimes be 2 days later before you got a response.

They do instruct all emergencies to go to your local ER.

What I do like about the clinic is that if you don’t live near the clinic - you can do phone appts for every other appt.
Plus the appts get further apart.
After one year I am now on 6 month intervals for appointments.
My previous LLND - appts were monthly for a year and then every other month...

I'm getting rather frustrated with the triage nurse not calling me back or giving me inconsistent information. So the last time I was there, I said we should schedule more frequent appointments. Luckily I don't live too far, so this is feasible for me. Unfortunately, they're pretty booked up, and the earliest I could get was January.

I'm also kinda frustrated with one of the PA not understanding the endocrine issues associated with Lyme. She kept pushing me to reduce my hydrocortisone dosage, and to not stress dose. That did not go well. Should I be seeing someone else? I know I am not the only patient there with endocrine issues. Who usually handles these cases?

What are the initials of the NP you’re seeing?

I’ve heard AW is good and KF is as well - KF has been with Dr J the longest....

I think you should ask to change your NP if you’re not getting answers/help with your current one.

So your NP/PA is changing all the time?
Usually you have one and stick with her - unless you’re not happy.
