Low Creatinine level

Has anyone has low creatinine? I see it is produced mainly in the liver and kidneys. Has anyone here had low creatinine levels? My mother's GI doctor will hopefully do liver function tests. Any suggestions, she will talk to her LLND at the end of the month. Her creatinine level has been on the low side since the tick bite 2 1/2 yrs ago. Thank you.

Could just be she not eating enough meat, creatinine also comes from muscles and meat if you eat high amounts can raise your levels. Mine are almost high because I eat a ton of meats

When my kidneys were taking a hit (on the "persister's protocol" - dapsone/daraprim) - my gfr (kidney) was low and my creatinine was high.
So - the opposite of what you're getting.

I consistently have borderline low (or actually low) BUN and creatinine, for years now. My doctors usually say it's because I'm not eating much (when I get blood work done it tends to be when I feel sick, and when I feel sick I'm not eating much) OR because I am so well-hydrated. No one has ever even brought it up.

I have low creatine. No idea why. I eat tons of meat so it's not that. Low creatine, high eosinophils and basophils. Getting checked again this week. Last test was in October.

My mom is a vegetarian and has been for 20 yrs, her creatinine has always been normal before the tick bite. Now it is low. High creatinine means kidney failure or trouble starting with the kidney's. Low means the kidneys are getting rid of protein I think. Thus, she has muscle weakness.
p.s. I did some research and low creatinine means poor kidney function. Sounds like Lyme has gotten into her liver. She'll have to discuss it with her LLND next week.
