can you tell me any more about this medicine? I think it is pretty new? basically my next step is to see the chinese medicine person. best case it works and I get relief.
If not then I will finally take the babesia test. If I have it, then I will try a pharmeceutical treatment( will find an llmd to work with for it). as the herbs I took ( artemesia crypto etc) didnt help.
I like the idea of a shorter term and mostly an effective treatment- I mean maybe this is all just the babesia growing in me attacking me.
so I am intrigued by this new one- but at the same time scared if there is not a lot of data on it, and also if it is strong enough too get babesia in a few doeses then there must be some serious side effects?
anyone know more about this?

Bumping this thread with my experience. I did two rounds of Tafenoquine, with 5 weeks in between, the first was 6 weeks and the second 8. The first 6 weeks I took as perscribed for the first 3 weeks (loading does, then 1 does per subsequent week, then I aded doeses on two additional days of the week in weeks 4 and 5 to try and regain some of the improvement I saw with the loading dose. The second cycle, I took a loading doe then brought it down to 2 days per week.

I saw immediate improvement at the beginning of the first cycle, most noticeably with brain function and the ability for more complex thought, also in mood/motivation, fatigue and other symptoms as well. The improvement was not sustained, but was still improved compared to when I started. For some context, I still work remotely at a lower key job 40 hrs per week and do my physical hobby 2-5 days a week and socialize when feeling ok, and I was able to handle doing this during this cycle, where this is not something I was really able to do before the Tafenoquine. I declined during the break but did not see the same level of improvement with the second round, which ended two weeks ago.Though it seems as I am declining after stopping especially in terms of full body aches and pains, so I'm wondering if it was doing something.

My main side effects (or Herx) were disturbed sleep and increased night sweats on the days I was taking the meds. I also had more low-grade fevers in the afternoon (previously would feel like I had a fever but with no temp.) I also felt more achey and fatigued in general 24-36 hours after taking the meds, but then the days following I would be more functional.

I'm curious if anyone else has experiences they can share or if anyone has gone longer on Tafenoquine and whether I just haven't been taking it long enough. Also curious if we think my side effects were Herx symptoms and a sign that I should keep going.

The stiffness is interesting, I get that too during my herxes, for me it's the biofilms/fibrin coming loose.

Tafenoquine is actually prescribed by my LLMD.

I am not aware of any generics at this time.

My insurance refused to cover any of the cost (about $250 for 16 arakoda tablets), I didn't hesitate to pay this one.
