Viruses, lyme? Results help

MAN, my health issues are really like an onion. Still pulling back layer after layer.

I've been suspicious of lyme and co for several months and finally got to a competent functional medicine doctor. He ordered a slew of tests for me - I gave 40 vials of blood in one week - and I started getting results back. I have a follow up on 2/7 but looking for some insight before then.

So far I tested negative for all lyme and co, through Quest and Igenex spot test. I did another Igenex test in October and came up with a few IND bands and positive on band 34, but otherwise negative. Really thought Bartonella would come back positive but alas, nothing there.

I just received a bunch of results for other viruses. These are out of range/significant:

- Parvovirus B19 Antibody IGG my result: 1.2 H (reference: >1.1 positive)
- Mycoplasma Pneumonia Antibody IGG my result: 2.35 H (reference: >=1.10 positive)
- EBV Viral CAPSID AG (VCA) IGG my result: 38.10 H (reference: >21.99 positive)
- EBV Nuclear AG (EBNA) IGG my result: 62.00 H (reference: >21.99 positive)
- HHV-6 IGG my result: 1:80 H titer (reference: >1.10 positive)

IGM was negative for all of these, but I've read that it can still be a fairly recent infection even without an IGM result.

So clearly I have a few issues to manage, but now I'm wondering if lyme is even the root cause of all of this? I know lots of people have negative results but still get treated for lyme, so if my new doctor doesn't do that, how should I move forward?

I'm still waiting on mold toxicity results from Great Plains lab, and I think a few other tests as well.

For context: I had pneumonia several times as a child and walking pneumonia once in high school, so that could explain the mycoplasma. I've never had mono as far as I'm aware.

I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2018, so I already have a compromised immune system. If I don't have lyme after all, what can I expect for treating those other viruses?

I'm not sure, I haven't looked up the viruses very much because I just got the results today. Trying not to overwhelm myself with info before meeting with my doctor again.

I've posted my symptoms on here before and they do seem consistent with lyme. Either that or mold illness.

I've had a ton of different symptoms across multiple body systems for almost 8 months now. Currently my biggest problems are persistent vertigo for the past three weeks, terrible sleep and dreams, tension headaches on both temples. Dark circles under eyes and dry, flaky skin under right eye.

Chronic lyme and chronic herpes viruses (HHV6, EBV, cytomegalovirus etc) have almost exactly the same list of symptoms.

As you got such positives on viruses, I would treat them immediately, if I were you.

People in EBV forums think everything is caused by EBV, as EBV (and all herpes viruses) is extremely immunosuppressive.

People in lyme forums think everything is caused by Bb, because Bb and coinfections (bart, myco, babs etc) are also immuno suppressive.

Positive igg just means past exposure.

When IGG titers are exceptionally high, some doctors believe that indicates some type of reactivation or drain on the immune system.

I seriously doubt the doctor would treat viruses and not Lyme.

Interesting. I hadn’t heard that before. My doctor said what I said about myco. She didn’t test much for viruses, but I got some viruses tested recently at my request. Still waiting on results.
