I did the MRT test. It's useful but the only thing I'll say is that it doesn't cover mast cell reactions. It says it does cover histamines but in my experience many of the green foods are total mast cell triggers for me. Just an FYI. .....
Thats interestingly odd. I dont know much about
mast cell issues, other than a Dr tested me for it.
MRT website: "Despite all of the clinical and immunologic complexities associated with food sensitivities, the single common component of all diet-induced inflammatory reactions is proinflammatory and proalgesic mediator release from white cells. It’s the release of cytokines, histamine, leukotrienes, prostaglandins, etc., from neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils and lymphocytes that lead to all the negative clinical effects a food sensitivity sufferer endures."

There are also other things to sort out too though, such as FODMAP issues, which can cause SIBO in some people. Thats not immune inflammation, but physical inflammation similar to gut candida but lower. Since candida can cause leaky gut, it can start immune inflammation. Big vicious circle.
I still occasionally "reset" my gut when it starts reacting and eat my most very basic, tolerant foods. Thats the whole purpose of the Whole 30 diet, I just go steps further using what works for me. Then Im good for another 6 months (or the next holiday lol). I also use D-limonine during this time as it coats the gut lining and symptoms resolve in as little as one day, its a lifesaver for me, its night and day.
D-L is also a major Liver Phase II detoxer. I also have plethora of gene defects in that pathway. Not sure how or if that effects gut health.
IBS/immune/autoimmune/candida/SIBO/GERD-Relfux - that gift my gut can keep giving if not self monitored. At least I've learned how reset it before it gets out of control like in my not-so-distant past.
Gut health is still a very blurry science / guessing game despite that its the basis of health. For some, there is way more to it that the current repeated gut health speech from the same popular health Drs.
