Diffusing essential oils can kill mold spores in the air, but it's a very temporary solution. Also, when mold dies, it releases its mycotoxins, so you can make yourself worse by releasing them. Better to remediate the source of mold, and remove spores from the air with a good purifier, though of course those both can cost a fortune. A dehumidifier can stop mold growth, too.
Oils can be helpful for many things when used topically, but I'm not sure how they are for mold topically. Many people use them topically to treat viral and bacterial infections and for managing symptoms. Greg Lee is a doctor who has done great work on this topic for Lyme, and Johns Hopkins has done a lot of studies about EOs for Lyme.
I have used oregano and clove for killing mold (living mold spores, not mycotoxins) in my respiratory tract through inhalation, like directly sniffing them or using a nebulizer. I was concerned about MARCoNS and other types of colonization.
As for mycotoxins, they are not alive, so I don't know of any way essential oils could affect them. They have to be addressed by mobilizing and excreting them (binders, sauna, etc.). (It's also important to make sure exposure has been stopped as much as possible before you mobilize things.) Essential oils, as far as I know, cannot speed or assist the detox of mycotoxins from your system.
Thieves has some ingredients that go after Lyme and co-infections as well as some of their symptoms, so don't be surprised if you herx from them and/or see improvement! I'm a big fan of EOs.
