Keeping Calm During Covid-19

A lot of people I'm sure are feeling very panicked about this whole virus thing and the shutdown that goes with it. I guess it's really easy to start feeling selfish and acting selfishly (like hoarding toilet paper)—at least that was what I was reading about what people did during the 1918 epidemic (act selfishly, not hoard toilet paper). I think it's really freeing to realize everything you have to be thankful for. I don't mean to be preachy though. But I'm sure not worrying about things gives a big boost to your immune system.

I'm really thankful that I have this opportunity to be quiet and pray and reflect on God. Slowing down, at least for me, is something I have trouble doing.

I think of a lot of people who are extremely isolated (don't have family), elderly or disabled, who are probably having the hardest time. But even if you feel like that's you, I think it's important to embrace the opportunities that you do have. At least we still have power and the internet available.

I think it's important to focus on what we can do the help others and ourselves in this situation, and not try to pin down if people are making too big of a deal of it or not.

What are you thankful for? What do you wish for the most right now? What are some ways that people in your community need help? (I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to help people in mine).

Share anything funny about staying at home all the time (I know that if you're not feeling well, you are home anyway, but everyone's daily routines are being thrown off).

We're chilling at home. Haven't been out for several days now.

My husband has symptoms...so we're trying to keep me safe. Thankfully, I am able to have my own bedroom and bathroom.
I am thankful (relieved) that he seems to be through the worst...and his symptoms are diminishing.


Will only be going out in public to get groceries...when we need them.

Keeping contact with our son who works for a large grocery chain and will be working throughout this pandemic.
I am concerned - because he has asthma. But the positive is they started with safety measures many days ago.
I am also thankful that they were one of the first to take precautions to keep their staff and public safe.


I still don't get why people were hoarding toilet paper...lol.

We (BC, Canada) are now just getting a rapid increase in cases...the trajectory is looking like Italy.
Interestingly, we are seeing our neighbors congregating in their yards. I think some find it very difficult to isolate.

I've hoarded toilet paper for years. Target puts it on sale and then offers a gift card to boot add in the redcard and its a steal. My wife gave some to coworkers. I haven't bought tp in 3 months though.
