Seriously!
Shame on all the people who continue to hoard supplies. They should be held accountable for their irresponsible actions. They should be fined or in prison for poisoning our economy.

Obviously they should all take an economics class. Have they ever heard of supply and demand? By their selfish actions, prices of goods will increase because of the lack of product.

I hope they are happy with their wall to wall toilet paper fire hazard mountain.

Shame on them for making a difficult time in our lives even harder.

You have a good sense a humor thats the only way through this.
My regular naturopath told me he wouldnt see me he only wanted a hair sample and to do a skype appointment. None of it made sense to me so I have to find a new naturopath. But no one I have contacted has got back to me. I guess they want to stay with patients they already know.

The problem with those hoarding is most of them have no shame. Unlike so many on this site, their only thought is "self." There have always been more takers than givers in life, but the givers pay the price of having so many takers.

I love this site because, it seems, the givers outnumber the takers. That is rare.

I have to say though, I think hoarding is completely natural, probably because I am one. In early february I realized this was going to be a big deal. Filled my closet with supplies, bought a chest freezer and filled it to the brim, sold all my stocks...even refilled my plaquenil about a week before it became a big fuss. This doesnt make me evil, just smart.

I guess my belief comes down to that sick people like us eventually realize that society isnt always going to solve our issues and we start looking out for ourselves.

There is a big difference between preparing and hoarding. What dcd did, for instance, is smart, in my book. Being prepared is essential and needed. Those who bought out essential supplies then tried to sell them again at a much higher cost in a time of crisis is not a good thing. Selling stocks also smart (I have been enjoying doing some trading throughout this while at home). Refilling needed prescriptions or buying needed herbs also smart, not selfish

It's those who really don't give a darn about others that make this world harder than need be. to me, dcd, you have shown the "good heart" to people. The type people that I struggle with are those who would step on your head to get back in a boat if both of you fell in the water smile.

Thats a good point RW. Hoarding to resell is pretty insidious and awful. Man those people have to look at themselves in the mirror. I guess i should have realized you guys were talking about people like that!

Paper products are made from pine and soft-hardwood not Redwood. Quit contary to whats told/put out trees grow back. The time to grow a harvestable pine plantation is 12-24 years “Trees are a renewable resource “. Didn’t take long for this to go south

Yes you were. But first you're upset because everyone is hoarding toilet paper and you cant get any, and then youre upset that humanity cuts down trees to make toilet paper in the first place. The whole rant doesnt add up, except that you seem to hate humanity.

Anyone who lives in logging or forestry areas knows there are trees replanted for this purpose they are basically crops not much different than corn or wheat Even grown in rows.

Yes they do still selectively cut down some big evergreen trees like spruce and firs in the west there is a hefty price for those and it’s obviously heavily monitored which they do this with helicopters nowadays as to not make a new Forest Roads to get to these trees.

On the topic of hoarding - there’s usually not much gluten-free bread available anyway but I see it’s temporarily completely gone off the shelves that I frequent as of this afternoon , oh well Bread is is just a filler.

Peroxide is sold out everywhere in the city of Chicago and I'm pretty furious... meanwhile everyone is selling it for $10 a bottle (plus shipping!) on eBay, so clearly people aren't just hoarding -- they are reselling for outrageous prices.

I literally drove around to over 30 different drug stores today trying to find some, because it turns out the online stocking info is incorrect too -- stores will say they have it in stock, then you go there and they don't. I never thought I would take having a 99 cent peroxide bottle for granted. Two weeks ago it was still everywhere. I hate people.

I just read an explanation on the toilet paper shortage. Across the world.

Besides hoarders, consumers are using more in their households. More are at home ALL day.

The TP industry is divided into consumer (soft paper) and commercial (the rougher stuff). The brands are different, with different distribution bases and made on different machinery (one or the other). Neither are easy to just change. Two different markets.

If this goes on we might see some commercial generic stuff at your consumer store. But thats introducing a new product to the store and their distributor- which should be faster than chaining production tooling though.

Feels good to that we got 30 kg of meat delivered from a local farmer a few days ago. 30 masks on the way and more wine. Stocked with TP for for 3 months smile

I am upset that I can’t get rubbing alcohol or respirator cartridges. The cartridges appeared in stock on Amazon last night, but the website wouldn’t let me order any. Was a note about hospitals or something. The rubbing alcohol is what I use to clean off the respirator.

I have to use a respirator and protective gear to go in the house. Haven’t replaced my filters in a few months. Need to replace them. Can you imagine me trying to explain to some government or medical “authorities” why I need those respirator masks and cartridges and why they’re a necessity? The “authorities” treat mold/biotoxin illness with far more idiocy than they treat Lyme.

WBF- You might try the old fashioned way, before Amazon. Some industrial supply places will have your cartridges. I think Grainger sells to the public now - call the closest location - they do have customer counters/phones, they might even ship. Fastenal might be another. Sherwin Williams paints too. Even Home Depot.

Seriously, I thought this TP craze would be a short term (1-2) weeks of irrational thought. People tend to act irrationality when scared. Three weeks into this I wouldn't mind some TP. I wish people would calm down with the toilet paper situation.

As the store if they get some overnight. Most get a small pallet overnight.

I asked- that was there reply...........I got there at 8:00AM, .I now have TP (!!!), paid regular price.

Almost out of dishsoap, which is hard to find too, since people are now using that for hand soap.
