I had that to varying degrees for decades. At times it was almost like having a straight jacket on. The reasons probably vary a lot patient to patient and I'd guess its a combination of everything gone wrong from the infections. No LLMD on the planet completely understands it.
Are your tendons "hard" too? there are now studies showing lyme can calcify the tendons.
Not one thing suddenly erased it.
Massage was nice for a while but costly. I learned a lot about
the muscles for daily self treatment is the form of foam fitness "rolling" as well as lacross ball use (myofacial release). This over circulates the tissues more than your body can do naturally. Circulation heals. This was more effective after ABX, but did it before and during too.
Used "Penetrex" on the more tender spots followed with the controversial DMSO topical application. Four years after ABX, muscles are still improving - thats how messed up I was.
Magnesium is avail in many topical forms too - temporarily helps. I used mag glycinate pill form at night. Makes you sleepy during the day.
