How to unblock detox pathways?

From research and talking to my doctors I've come to the conclusion that I have severely blocked detox pathways. I think this is the main reason I have trouble tolerating treatments even at very low doses. I've tried several forms of detox but I seem to have trouble even tolerating those including liver flushes, infrared sauna and pekana. I also take a binder daily.

I do have BMs everyday, drink plenty of water and take supplements to support my liver. I also have a strict healthy diet. I just feel like I can't detox properly or treat myself until I unblock these pathways. Does anyone know how to do this or have any suggestions?

It depends on what detox pathways are blocked. Are you getting allergy-like symptoms (histamine)? Are you getting increased liver enzymes? Are you getting bowel problems (enterohepatic recirculation)?

Have you looked into MCAS? (mast cell activation syndrome)

It seems that quite a few patients with herx issues have some degree of this problem. Once I started taking combo antihistamines I found I could tolerate treatments a lot better. Might be an angle worth exploring if you haven't already.

I just delt with it, was not easy. Herxed five months in a row, bad.

sam-E, and D-Limonene both say they help for this (on package labels). sam-M messes with brain hormones though, made me worse, but can make some better in the brain department since its for serotonin I think. D-L speeds up the liver, and can change med rate a little- no big deal unless you take some life saving Rx med.

Do you know which organs are affected? Did you have tests for GFR (kidney) or ALT/AST (liver)? If it's your liver, coffee enemas could help. They are the only thing keeping my liver enzymes from being over the range, which I don't understand. My cholesterol is also high and I'm not sure what that's related to...

I don’t have the answers, but I’m in the same boat as you and still wondering how to figure this part out. I’ve been detoxing mold since Sep 2016 and herbally treating Lyme/co since June 2017. Epsom salt baths help me more than anything else. I have not used sauna. Hope to one day.

I have used various binders: activated charcoal, Pectasol-C, Pectaclear, Microbe Formulas Bioactive Carbon Biotix, and chlorophyllin (Lapis says it binds mold). Oh, almost forgot. The first binder I tried was Cholestyramine. I took it for 10 days, I believe. Thought I was going to die. Moved way more toxins than I could handle.

Like you, I still don’t know WHY I can’t handle the toxins, whereas others can. I’m not sure if a) I just have an overload of toxins, b) I am just super sensitive to any toxins, both internal and external from the environment, or c) I have blocked detox pathways that get backed up very easily. I thought it was probably option c, but recently I wondered if it could be option b. If it is, I don’t really know what that means or how to identify and fix the problem.

I have been trying to treat parasites since Dec, using Mimosa pudica that my doctor recommended. I definitely passed a lot of ropeworm and had various die-off symptoms, but around the 5th week, I couldn’t take the misery anymore and took a break. I tried to restart about 2 weeks ago, but it was still too much. In the last week I have been taking one dose every other day.

It’s very frustrating. My doctor seems to believe parasites can cause the chemical sensitivities, which are one of my worst symptoms. I was hoping this parasite thing would be doable and straightforward, but I still struggle.

Anyways, you’re not alone. I feel your pain and frustration.

My doctor told me to only take parasite medication for 10 days at a time, during the full moon when they're allegedly most active and reproduce. Maybe you are taking it too much?

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I'm also going to talk to my doctor about this but I'm open to hearing from anyone else.

But did you find the cause of it ?
I also have high cholesterol idk why and my LLMD thinks that my detox pathways are blocked...

So sorry. I was there too. From gut to kidneys constantly fighting infection and liver shutting down ... to my lymphatic system being completely clogged. I just couldn’t detox at all and any tiny treatment caused severe neurological issues including seizures and lyme rage and hallucinations and suicidal thoughts.

It took a whole year of it, but this was absolutely one of the best things I did to clean out my detox pathways as a whole;

Lymphatic Drainage via lyme literate lymph massage drainage dr. He started out low and slow for 6 months or so with dry cupping on my back, arms, legs while running FSM. He also rented me FSM (frequency specific micro current) unit to use multiple times a day at home on a low setting for months at a time.
Then when I was able to tolerate more he started cranial also.
Now my detox pathways are so much better over a year later we only need cranial.
if you are interested, this amazing dr has TONS of connections and you can DM me and i’ll try my best to see if he knows anyone in your vicinity.

The other things that helped were finding out about MTHFR and CBS. I had to stop epsom salt baths and that helped.

Also grounding outside or grounding mat, and removing myself from any and all overstimulating or toxic environments including moving out of my parents even mildly moldy house.

Then the icing on the cake (ironic little metaphor) was removing all chemicals from my house and removing all histamines from diet. I ate strict AIP for years.

Trying to think of other things I was able to tolerate when very toxic...

also Herx Water! Alka Seltzer gold tabs with 15 drops fennel tincture and 1 capsule ginger powder. actually delicious iced.

and last but not least Burbur Pinella from NutraMedix has never hurt only helped even at my sickest. you can take 15 drops every hour until toxicity lowers, according to Buhner.

I think the sauna has helped be most! I liked being on the Cowden protocol as well, I feel like it helped me regain some detox methods in my body. Good luck
