Seems like colon/bowels are not working

I feel like my colon is not working.Lastnight I had some cramping in my abdomen and stomach.I took a water enema and the cramping went away.I started taking pysillium husk today.It seems like there is no feeling in my colon.When I lay flat on my back it seems heavy and all my organs descend to my back.Im still figuring out my loss of appetite now this is making me worry again.i have zero urge to have a bowel movement but I can pass gas somewhat.when I roll on my side it seems heavy and everything shift to that side in my stomach.i had a full bowel movement on Monday.I hope my colon has not stop working.Just when I got my hope back up now this.Help me Lord.

My appetite is gone again it did get better for a few days but now I am having to force feed again.No tender spots or hard lumps.You said yours last sometimes months?what do you do to have a bowel movement when it happens?This is scary I feel no type sensation down there.quote="saraeli"]The GI tract stalling is something that can happen with Lyme. Re: your loss of appetite, how has it been? (You said that you were worried but then were feeling more hopeful, so I guess there was some improvement?) Have you been eating very little and then starting to eat again? Or have you started taking any supplements that might be aimed at SIBO or anything else that could cause these sensations, inflammation, or irritation in the gut?

If there is no pain, and no hard mass anywhere, then I would not suspect a blockage. Being able to pass gas is a good sign in that regard, too. Plus your full bowel movement took place several days into the appetite loss, right?

When you lie on your back, flat and relaxed, and gently feel your abdomen with your hand, what do you notice? Any areas tight, knotted, hard, tender, bruised feeling?

For me, the upper portion is more likely to stall - now saliva is produced, difficulty swallowing, no appetite, laryngopharangeal reflux, anything I swallow just sits still in my stomach for a long time, when it goes into my intestines it feel like glass and I feel it move down verrrrry slowly. Bowel movements have not been a problem for me, although my understanding is that severe constipation is typical of gastroparesis.

Try a nutrition product intended for people with absorption problems, like Metagenics Ultra-InflammX. That will keep you from developing deficiencies while still giving your system a break.

I might be totally wrong - what's going on with you might be something else - but treating this as a neurological issue (rather than a GI-only issue) might be helpful.

Hi Saraeli I now have the dry mouth to add with the no appetite and no bowel movements.This is really scaring me now.I am still force eating a good amount of food but still have no sensations in my stomach meaning no movement or gurgling/hunger feeling .I have zero desire to have a bowel movement.Its like my digestive system is shut down and I am starting to get worried.I don’t have any pain and still pass a little gas every once in a while.I sent my llmd a message today on the patient fusion but I am hesitant about going to the er because of covid and once you say Lyme they look at you like you are crazy.

Also, GI doctors will give you awful tests to diagnose gastroparesis. My LLMDs always have been familiar enough with it as a Lyme symptom that they have been able to advise. GI docs have been useless. Nuerologists have been more knowledgeable (since it's a neuro problem) but not exactly helpful. Check with whomever treats your Lyme and co-infections about the possibilities.

If you genuinely cannot take in calories at all or have no bowel movements for another day or so, then call a regular doctor for an ultrasound or other imaging to make sure there's no blockage. (Again, I doubt there's a blockage if you are passing gas and there's no pain.)
