I've almost been on fluconazole for 2 weeks. Today is the first day I've felt a bump in energy. Hopefully, this is a good sign. I also noticed the oral thrush clears up. However, there are points in the day (normally around noon-1and in the morning) that the oral thrush comes back. And then at night my tongue is completely cleared up. What does this mean? Has anyone had a similar issue? Because of this, I feel like the candida won't be resolved after the two week course. Is it possible to be on fluconazole longer? Also, does anyone know if hydrocortisone (cortef 20mg) and birth control have any impact on the effectiveness of getting rid of candida. Because I am on both of those now,

I had a white patch of skin close to my mouth...my regular GP told me it was a fungal (candida likely) infection. She told me to buy the Canestan (spelling?) topical cream and put it on daily...which I did...and it would seem to clear it up for a few hours...but then it would come back.
I then (on my own) took Diflucan orally for about a week straight. Didn't really help. And I think it was hard on my liver...as my bilirubin plus one more liver function test were higher than range.

Now I've been using Colloidal silver (my husband uses it for anything and everything) and it's done the best.
I ended up with a bit of an issue 'down there' and after about 1 1/2 weeks of twice daily colloidal silver - it's almost gone.

Worth a try.

Girlie, my daughter has been having yeast issues recently too. Can you share what kind of silver and how much you used? Thanks!

My daughter did well with nystatin and fluconazole when she first started treatment a couple years ago. Her dr started both to tackle some yeast issues in the beginning and she did two months of fluconazole. I feel like it worked really well. We have pulsed it since for a long time and it did a good job keeping things in check. Not so much now but since you’re just starting out, i would say yes... you can take it for longer periods. They do caution that it can irritate the liver so you have to keep an eye on that when using.

We buy the spray from our local health food store.

We have a smaller spray bottle plus a large bottle to fill up the spray bottle.

So it’s applied externally - I think you can take it orally too.

I spray it directly on the areas a few times a day.
I also saturate a qtip and apply it.

I also take spoonfuls of coconut oil to help internally.

I know people who ingest the colloidal silver but I’m apprehensive to do that.
