Thank you all for the replies - I will add some notes now even though I am still foggy and recovering from a successful cleanse!
Overall the cleanse was surprisingly effective or thorough, in fact a true "cleanse!" Who would have thought?
After the grapefruit/olive oil drink I soon ended up expelling probably 80-100 small greenish or tan "stones." I didn't explore too much, but they were definitely not stool due to the green color and I did inspect one and it had structural integrity at least along the lines of a waxy or fatty substance. It did also appear to have something inside of it (Clark speculates broken down parasite) like it has layers. Quite an alarming or shocking experience for the uninitiated! I have pictures if the forum desires just let me know the best way to link it.
Here was my breakdown according to the times suggested in the Clark Cleanse (see recipe linked above by Deejavu)
2:00PM I made the mix - I also failed to make sure I took eating my bland food seriously or to insure I was properly hydrated going in. I did eat chips and salsa and a baked potato. If I did it again I would make sure to hydrate well the day before and prior to 2 and would perhaps eat a bit more.
6:00PM First drink of epsom - oh man drinking salt is bad - the volume isn't a lot which helps but it tastes like bitter death! Only 3/4 cup so not too much problem. Every food I ever enjoyed sounds great since I can't eat!
8:00PM Immediately after this second epsom dose, big time stomach gurgling, immediately had to go to bathroom and had a lot of watery diarrhea which did not expel any of the stones but did produce similar to a coffee enema though much more diarrhea volume, surprisingly so. I feel the instructions didn't let me know the diarreha would hid this soon - yeah definitely get the bedtime chores done! Ended up in the bathroom 2-3 times with large volume of diarrhea. Get any sleep supplements ready
10:00PM Starting to feel fatigue from diarrhea, definitely recommend taking the grapefruit/olive oil mix to the bedroom (drink it standing up though). Expect to feel the imminent urge to expel whilst making said concoction! Important to ready to lay still in bed for the 20 minutes and go to sleep. I had some awakening in the night with some gurgling, but didn't have to get up for bathroom
9AM next day: woke up with strong diarrhea, expelled 20-50 green "stones" and quite a bit of other material, quite a bit of liquid volume expelled again.
10AM next day: Expelled even more stones to total about
100 estimated, volume of them reduced this time and next. Passing other material, "chaff" like similar to coffee enema stuff. Took first AM dose of epsom, more diarrhea
11AM: passing more diarrhea without stones
12PM: Took second and final epsom dose
1:30PM: Ate some saltine crackers and apple juice, stomach fragile, pounding headache (from lack of caffeine)
2:00PM two cups of coffee killed the headache, had another diarrhea session
7:00PM I feel a bit weak. I took some electrolyte pills and drinking water. I feel like I have been cleansed but weak in a way simliar to colonoscopy recovery. I am amazed at what came out of my body and look forward to seeing what results I feel going forward!
3rd day: Update: Wow, I actually had three or so episodes of cleansing diarrhea here on the third day, eventually tapering off towards mid-afternoon! Still some lingering digestive sensitivity through the 4th day (nothing major, just don't feel like eating anything spicy still) I still had some trouble falling to sleep last night, I ended up taking two more L-ornithine as I felt I was overly alert
possibly due to more ammonia, it seemed to help again. Overall I am starting to feel like I did acheive an energy boost from the cleanse.
Additional notes: Make sure you are well hydrated going in to the cleanse and also that you take advantage of eating the bland foods available prior to the start of the cleanse. Try to wake up early the second day, like 6AM so that your first morning epsom dose occurs early - mine didn't (I slept in) and I was fasting for about
24 hours total. I also recommend taking the L-ornithine for sleep, I took 6 and slept well. I would advise that the decision whether and when to do the cleanse is a significant one - in terms of the trauma or shock to the system- it was a bit worse than colonoscopy prep, not in terms of the difficulty to drink (that wasn't too bad just super bitter with epsom) but in the sheer amount of diarrhea and toilet time and associated weakness/fatigue. I would advise that it is optimal to make sure you have no pressing obligations for
3 days 4 days 2 weeks or so at least to give adequate peace of mind and time to recover. I also factored in that due to finances and doctor changes I was off antibiotics for the first time in 3 years and I did stop all lyme supplements the day of. I assume it throws off your electrolyte balance way worse than a coffee enema. I would definitely be prepared to address this with some electrolyte pills or drink for after. By the end of the cleanse I had a significant headache which seemed to be due to caffeine withdrawal! I am happy I tried it but everyone must make their own decision! I read somewhere that you need to complete 3 or more in a row to accomplish anything since the stones "roll forward" so keep that in mind also. I will have to judge how I feel going forward (and will post update) to see the true worth over time
